I obviously don't have the money rn but should I get one? I feel like I'm late to the party, its almost been 3 years :/. Or should I wait for the NX, but I feel like it will be forever away.. thoughts? and if so, what are some good games? ty

Games I have for it:

Mario Kart 8
Smash Bros. 4
Monster Hunter 3 (Hardly even touched this. MH4U is more user friendly.)
Mario and Sonic at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games
Wind Waker HD
Super Mario Bros. U (Haven't gotten around to playing this one yet.)

The bolded games are the ones I really enjoy playing. I think it is definitely worth getting. I haven't played Splatoon, but I plan to play the demo on the 23rd and hopefully it will be good. I wouldn't even worry about the NX right now.

Well, I'd focus more on whether there are games that you want. To be honest, unless you're yearning for some of the virtual console games offered, there's not many games that I would say are out of this world.

I'm not entirely sure what the NX's deal is though.

I don't want to tell you what to do, but I would advise waiting to see what goes on at E3. Maybe there'll be something that really piques your interest ~

Do you like Nintendo games? If so yes
Do you want an all around console that does so much more, plays Blu-Rays, DVDs, and has so many more apps/third parties? Get a PS4/Xbone.

I would say go for it if you really want one. It's always better to get a console late than during launch honestly. After a year or two, you get to buy a console at a decreased price, they generally come in bundles afterwards. You don't have to wait for games as opposed to someone who bought a Wii U in 2012 and pretended they were having fun with just Nintendo Land.

As for the NX, at the moment Iwata said that while they aren't planning on it being a "replacement for the Wii U and 3DS". Take this as you want but keep in mind that things can change during production, but it might not even be until 2017 or later when the NX is released.

Here are the reasons to get a Wii U:

- If you want to enjoy most of the best of the past home consoles along with GBA and DS without having to break your bank
- If you love multiplayer games (Nintendo Land, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, etc.)
- If you want to access to the Wii's library of games and perhaps even more Virtual Console games, provided that you get a Wii Remote, a Nunchuk and Classic Controller
- If Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 1 & 2, Little Inferno, The Wonderful 101, Hyrule Warriors and/or Splatoon floats your boat
- The upcoming games are actually interesting too, such as Mario Maker, the upcoming The Legend of Zelda game, Xenoblade Chronicles X and whatnot

If at least one of these factors got you interested, consider buying the Splatoon bundle, as it includes the game itself.

Well, it's a really fun console to play games with your friends and family. Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros are both super fun, but if you want individual games, I don't know. Wind Waker HD is great, but I mainly use the WiiU for "family night" (I have 3 siblings lol). I have a normal Wii in my room for games such as Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. All of the new Mario games are nice as well.

I was hesitant to buy one at first, but its the main console I play now :p There are alot of great games on the wii u. The main ones that I would recommend are nintendo land (If you have people to play with), mario kart 8, super smash bros and the soon to be released splatoon (comes out may 29th). I've gotten the chance to play the demo for about three hours. Its amazing. As far as saving for the NX, I wouldnt bother. We dont even know what it looks like let alone when it comes out. Its a looooong way away :)

Yeah I think the first 2 years of the WiiU's life were pretty dull since it had practically no games, but it's really thriving now. :) To be honest I have quite a good library of games for it now (and there are many more that I want and am anticipating), so I'd definitely say it's worth the money.

I have Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Super Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad. Also I have Pikmin 3 and Pushmo World as digital downloads. I've also played 3D World, Wind Waker HD, and Nintendo Land, but they're all my dad's games so I only play them when I'm at his house. :) Also, Splatoon is coming out soon which I plan on getting, so... Yeah. xD Definitely lots of games to play, so maybe have a look through and see what games you would want before you plan on buying it.

Also, E3 is soon, too, so maybe they'll be announcing more games for the WiiU then, too. I mean we have Zelda U coming out next year, most likely, so there's still definitely stuff to look forward to. As for the NX, as other people said, it could be a LONG time until that comes out, so...

I got the Mario Kart 8 bundle which came with the game itself (physical copy) along with the black WiiU and gamepad, and also Nintendo did a deal that if you bought the game you could download a free digital game (out of like a selected number), too, so yeah, definitely recommend getting the bundles because they're much cheaper. I think I found a WiiU on one website for ?180, actually, which was pretty damn good considering you have to pay like 2x that amount for a PS4 or Xbox1 (perhaps even more!). I didn't buy that one though since you had to order it in advance, but ended up getting one for ?220, which is still really good considering I also got TWO games with that. So keep your eyes peeled for deals if you are going to get one.

Plus there are tons of games available on the eShop and you can still use it to play Wii games on and stuff, so that's always a bonus.

I guess it sounds like I'm praising it lots lol but I do really love the WiiU xD But definitely do some research first into what games you'd wanna buy, obviously. :) I do highly recommend Mario Kart 8, though, that's probably my favourite game at the moment.

I would wait until june 16th for E3's Nintendo Direct. Then I would make my mind up?

If you frequently buy games, then yes. I got one by surprise and was addicted to it for like a day, but I lost interest and it's not even touched anymore. The person who bought it for me basically wasted his money..I feel bad for not using it, but I really just don't have an interest in it because I barely bought games for it. The games that came with it are mainly multiplayer, but my siblings are at college or live at a boyfriend/girlfriend's house. The only game I bought for mine in general is Super Smash bros, but yeah..the main reason as to why I don't play the wii u anymore is because it's in the living room, so I have less access to checking social media which irritates me. But yeah, buy it whether you're really interested in nintendo or not

1) we don't even know what the NX is. Odds are it's going to be a handheld, if we're following the traditional home console to hand held pattern.

2) you'll be paying for it so why are other people's opinions relevant? fair enough if you were getting a tattoo or a life-changing procedure, but buying a gaming console......?
