okay so basically, i've got plans for a second town, but i don't want to lose Cryptid. i was thinking about buying a second copy of the game - but a) the only copies I can find are expensive and b) i don't know if i'd stick with it?? i could just focus on my current town, but i really want to start another one. what do you guys think? <3
I have two cartridges and love it. It's hard to focus on two, but I didn't have room for all of my dreamies otherwise. In the end it's up to you, but I've found having a second cartridge is worth it.
If you like your first town, don't delete it because you'll definitely regret it. I have 3 towns total and I love it. I have two that I decorate, and one that I use for farming jacob's ladders, and cycling villagers.
I’m just voting from personal experience. I was like you. I loved my main town Yardley but there were things I wished I could change. Plus I had lots of great ideas for a second town, so I went out and spent ?30 on a second hand copy. I played it for a few days but then got bored realising how long it would take to unlock all the shop and stuff I’d spent 2 years unlocking in Yardley. So now I very rarely play it. I wish I’d just stuck with Yardley and saved myself ?30.
I'm nor sure where you are, but the most I've ever spent for an acnl copy is $17, in eshop it's $20, (if you use you're my nintendo reward you can get a discount)
So I would get a second one.
Hmm, I've definitely thought about this too. I have an older 3DS XL (works well, just need NFC reader... which I have) and a new 2DS XL. I've contemplated getting the eShop version on my 3DS and having a 2nd town. Not sure yet.
Go for it if that's what you absolutely want. I have two towns but sometimes it does get a little difficult to manage from not having enough time to play daily. The good part is that the welcome amiibo update is more lax about villagers wanting to move so you have a bigger timeframe to work with which has helped so much! However, I wouldn't recommend it if you already have a full schedule (work & school) unless you really feel like you could schedule your playing.
If you're in the US, Target, Toys R Us, or Best Buy have ACNL for less than $25 if I recall correctly. I personally love having two towns despite its challenges. Just know your limit. I know I couldn't handle 3 towns. Good luck!
It's definitely a good way to renew interest when your old town starts to get boring. I didn't play for about a year until I finally decided to reset. In my case most of the villagers I actually cared about had long since left and the town itself was shoddily designed with no real plan. If you don't want to see your old town destroyed, I recommend it. Though now that I think about it, you might want to just wait for the when the next game (hopefully) comes out on the Switch.
They sell them cheap at Walmart, and eBay as well. I usually see them at 14.99 , which is around how much I paid for my second copy. Though I sort of regret buying it. I wish I would have just reset my main one.
thank u for the advice guys!!
i think i'm gonna wait until i get paid, and i found one on Ebay for ?10 so i'm gonna buy it!! i'm gonna start a year-round winter town, can't wait B) it probably won't be as active as my current town though.
I'm amazed that nobody in this topic ever suggested forking your hard-earned cash to get another video game instead.
Although getting yourself an extra copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf gives you one more town to work with, the core experience still remains pretty much the same. By getting another game, you could possibly expand your gaming horizons and possibly end up finding one you might enjoy just as much, if not more.
