Should I build the café?

I know exactly where I would build the Roost. After several months of meditating on it, I finally had Isabelle lay down the plot and I paid it off right then and there. No less than two minutes later, I shut off the game without saving.

It's absurd how anxious this caf? is making me. It's really the permanence aspect that gets to me - what if I get sick of it? I feel like I'm depriving myself of one the game's new features, but I can't tell whether it's worth it in the long run.

What do you think? Is the caf? worth building after all? Do you have any regrets about building it?

Don't worry you will love the cafe =x choose a spot you like and build it! I never regret getting my cafe~ It is well build and match the overall of my town~

Not only is it cute, but working there is fun. It's also a great way to see other villagers. So many nice ones. You earn prizes from Brewster and making the coffee is easy. Use Thonky as a guide if you need help. Also, when I want to hide out I go in there and just sit at a table.

I love the cafe. I didnt pick a good spot for it, but i still go there often. Just to get a cup of coffee. Its fun working there too.

i work at a cafe in real life so i don't actually go often, but i like having it in my town. gives it a "real town" feeling, ya know?

I would personally say yes. It looks beautiful(especially if you have the perfect spot), you get the awesome cafe items, a minigame, and my favorite part, the coffee, walking around or sitting at the counter, it's a simple bit of warmth added to the game.
I do have one regret with mine, the placement. I put it in a corner of town, which seemed cool at the time, but I don't feel that way anymore... BUT, if you have a spot you're happy with, go for it.
Let us know if you decide to do it!

Tenyu,

I placed my Roost Cafe near the center of town. In fact, you walk a north/south bridge (separating the two halves, upper and lower, of my town) and, conveniently, you arrive right there. You're coming in from the backside and walk around to the front. That's the flow of it. I can always relocate the bridges to come in from an angle. But my town's layout is one in which I try to place the bridges equally apart from each other. If you haven't been to my town, in the Dream Address, please visit. (Or I can have you over as a guest.)

You should definitely build it! I actually built it without thinking much about it and my town landscaping just grew naturally. The cafe is my favourite spot in my town :) I built it near the train station, next to my main road and police station. It's pretty funny because I always see a lot of my villagers "hanging out" around there. It really does make your village seem more like a community.

I think Dizzy and Bunnie are bffs

The cafe is pretty is nice. I didn't build it in the best spot I could and I still love it.

I built it. I don't use it much and I've not tried working in it, but I like it. I've seen Tortimer, Digby and KK Slider in there so far, as well as various villagers. That's cute!

My cafe's up in the northwest corner. I have ReTail, the cafe and the police station more or less in a little line, so once you've offloaded your stuff in ReTail you can wander along to the cafe for a drink, or that's how it's supposed to feel.

I have that problem with permanent pwps too, I'm mulling over where to put the police station right now :/
But really if you care that much about the placement, don't rush it. But at the same time try not to overthink it... since really you can pretty much always make things work, and sometimes having a more natural unplanned look is really nice!

I placed mine around a little "pocket" sticking out of the cliffside, and gave it lots of space for paths, a parkette and bench. When the resident in front moves out I think I'll spruce up the area even more.

But building the cafe is really worth it, honestly my town didn't feel complete without it. Only regret I could have was not to have it more central for my villagers to gather near, but honestly I feel its perfect the way it is and I can always have villagers move in later to that part of town. And it really does look nice, so its not like the cafe awkwardly sticks out amongst the rest of your town. :)

I used to love it. Now I can't remember the last time I went there. I guess if your short on bells earning coffee to sell is good.

If you want to get a coffee take-out and chill with your favorite villager on a bench, you should build the cafe.

After getting the 4 gyroids from Brewster, I never really go in there anymore. However, seeing the random villagers that are not from your town sometimes cheers me up.

i have and love it. <3

i have to say though, i didn't earn all the things you can earn yet - i guess after you have all four brewstoids, it can get boring/forgotten.

As everyone says, it is a good idea to build it, but maybe not to earn Bells or get special items but maybe because the town would feel empty without it.

I got quite nervous when placing down the cafe in my old town, too.
There was a limited amount of space in my town and I didn't like where I put the cafe. D:
But I think you should spend some time walking around town and looking at all the different spots, making sure you certainly want it there. :)
Good luck with placing it.

I chose not to build the cafe in my town. I had a place in mind for it (the nook in the river/peninsula in the middle of my town) that would have probably worked fine, but I decided I'd rather use that spot to make a park instead. The cafe is such a big building and I wasn't willing to give that space up to something that wouldn't match my town theme (fairytale-style). All the fairytale architecture looks so fancy and elaborate and has a color scheme of pink, blue, and yellow; and then there's the cafe with its more rustic feel and earthy browns. It just didn't seem like it would match my theme well. Also, like you, building anything permanent makes me nervous. I haven't built any of the other permanent projects either, and I don't regret it. I don't feel like I need the police station, campsite, or cafe in my town. They are all optional buildings and not necessary to enjoy the game.

So I guess maybe consider:
- whether the cafe matches your theme or not (don't know what feel you're going for in your town, or how dedicated you are in maintaining a specific theme/feel)
- whether you have a good spot for it or not
- whether you're willing to "sacrifice" that good spot for the permanent cafe
- whether you'd rather put different PWPs there
- whether you'd really enjoy working at the cafe and visiting there often, or if it would just be a mostly unused building in town

But it's not like I don't recommend building it! It can definitely be a really cute addition to town :) Just thought I would offer my point of view.
