should Celeste and meteor showers go hand in hand?

i don't know about everyone, but when i have a meteor shower i go around the island to look for her once and after a few walks around the beach & she's not there, i save+quit, then open my other character (or same) to look for her again, and give up if she doesn't show up.

i know it's been said plenty of times here that she isn't certain. i even answer that myself if someone asks but only due to hearing that answer from here LOL. no other source! i did some googling whether she isn't certain on a heavy meteor shower as well--if there is data mined info. because i know she isn't certain for light showers, but for heavy i assumed she'd appear because she appeared on mine when i had them twice. apparently she still might not, and there are people who tried for several hours looking for her. which i felt bad because they found out afterwards that she might not show up.

i feel like it's pretty misleading. why would she appear sometimes, and sometimes not? aside from that ac just want to be random at all times.
would you prefer if Celeste is there every time there is a meteor shower or this doesn't affect you?

oh i didn't say or mean that she will only appear during meteor showers, but she i feel like she should during.

I think that she should definitely be required to appear during heave showers (the ones Isabelle announces), it just makes sense with how much she likes astronomy! (this including her regular NPC rotation)

again i wasn't trying to say she should only appear during meteor showers, then obviously it wouldn't work because we'd get like 4 DIYs a year, but we're saying she should during.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I noticed that Celeste is guaranteed to appear on the day when Isabelle mentions about meteor shower/shooting stars except maybe on a Sunday (Daisy Mae) or when KK visits the island? So far, I've been getting her on weekdays.

When Celeste is there, you are guarantee to get stars that night. If there is no announcement, you have a light shower. If you don't want to be guessing the nights she might appear then go find your weather seed.

The new update and data mine says that she appear on the nights with a big shower over the light ones if you have both in the same week and she still only appears once a week.

i've been thinking of another word and i couldn't but for some reason it translates to some people thinking i'm saying she should only appear when there's a heavy meteor shower. honestly, no one in their right mind wouldn't suggest that...

edit: now that i'm thinking about it. she actually can. BUT during light showers also. i just checked my meteonook and there's average of 6-10 light showers per month. that should be enough to get DIYs from her.

Yes, same for me.That's actually the first time I haven't seen Celeste on a heavy meteor shower night and it's also a Sunday. The last time I tested it (through TT'ing), she appeared both times on a Wednesday and also had both Isabelle telling about shooting stars. I really haven't tested it further to see if she will appear on a weekend. I just kept TT'ing and the announcement always fall on a weekday for me except that one, when I suddenly had it on a Sunday.

I mean she should, it makes sense because her second idle animation is her wishing on stars. And if there's no stars then she looks like a dummy unless her eyeballs can see deep in space. Maybe she just saw a supernova 400 million light years away.

She appears more on the small dud meteor showers than any bigger ones I've had. Even on the official meteor shower announced by Isabelle, she was nowhere on my island and I was so confused.

just a guess, but without the meteonook thing, we wouldn't have guessed that we're all having light showers 6-12 times a month (because the shooting stars come at such random scattered times throughout the night--we wouldn't be able to know when will it appear). having said that, that means we'd be having 2-3 times per week depending on our weather schedule. so maybe the indication that celeste could only come once a week and will randomly choose which of those days you'd be having stars when she'll visit. either random, or if 1 shooting star night landed on a sunday then she'd automatically come on a weekday.

Haha I understood what you were saying and like I said in my previous posts, it's probably easier to tell that she will come if you get the announcement of a meteor shower/shooting star coming, but if Celeste already came on an earlier day during the same week, she might not come. If you have multiple showers on a certain week, including the one that comes with an annoucement, I think the game will favor that day for Celeste to appear. But then, she might not come if it is a Sunday.. Pretty sure I didn't have any shower on the same week or prior to that day so I'm not really sure why she did not come. I'll try to find that out sometime. I'm not keen on finding all the Zodiac yet.

I guess I misunderstood. But yeah. Celeste should always be present when there's a meteor shower.

Okay, so I did a test while farming for the zodiac fragments and I can confirm that Celeste is guaranteed to come on the day Isabelle announces that there will be shooting stars, except for one specific situation. If you had a meteor shower (most likely light shower) on the same week and you saw Celeste on that day, it means you won't see her again next time on that same week even if you get a heavy shower. This is the reason why I did not get Celeste when I had a heavy shower because I had her on the same week prior to that day. So I assume, she only comes once a week, regardless, and I can also confirm that she comes even on Sundays. I have TT'd to until 2023 and got her 100% of the time on the other island (where I did the test) during heavy showers whenever Isabelle announces it. I guess, I was lucky that I did not get her during light showers with a heavy shower coming up on the same week.

I’ve also had Celeste with no shooting stars. At all. And I took the time to diligently wait. What?!? That seems odd too
