Around 6PM local time, gunmen made their way into the Olympia mall in Munich and started shooting at patrons.
On video footage, people can be seen coming out of the McDonald's, after which one of the gunmen points his gun at the people and starts shooting. This is supposedly where the shooting spree began.
Three people are confirmed dead, and many others are wounded.
Police is on location, but the perpetrators have still not been apprehended. Their motivation is also unknown.

Well I'm living in germany (far away from Munich though) and I can tell the news are going crazy about it.
It's all over the TV. This is pretty sick... all those attacks in this year all over Europe.

I got friends and relatives I'm trying to contact there, hope they're safe since they live in another side of the town and on work. But hopefully things will get better, so sick of these attacks :(

My thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families :(

It's so upsetting that this isn't surprising anymore, we're so desensitised, and it shouldn't get to this point.

Thoughts to everyone affected by this, it's awful.

I wish guns didn't exist.
Then we'd just have mall stabbings instead.
I mean, not to put a damper on things, but the weapons of choice are not the problem. People are. And when people want to hurt others, they'll grab anything to aid them in it, be they guns, knives, trucks, bombs, or more primitive weapons like sticks and stones.

I hope you hear from them soon.

Various terrorism investigators are reporting that news spread through ISIS-linked Telegram channels that the attack was not by ISIS or their supporters, but rather another group or rogue individuals.
Death toll has increased to six people.

I completely agree that people are the main problem, obviously. However, letting people have guns makes it much easier. Would it be as easy to walk into a mall and kill 6 people with a knife? Doubt it. Also, look at how many incidents with guns have happened recently, I'm sure that's way higher than the number of people killed by knives recently.

Knives also have many other uses, guns are for killing. If you allow guns, you allow killing. All the things you mentioned; guns, knives, trucks, bombs, sticks, stones are either illegal or have other uses, except guns, doesn't that say something?

I'm so sick of people killing each other.

I also wonder if the attack is linked to the one that happened in Utoya, Norway five years ago.

It could very well be linked to the massacre and car bomb in Norway precisely 5 years ago. Also, the shopping mall where this happened has a connection to the Olympic games in Munich in the 70's. I'm sure some people remember the massacre that happened during that event. Though those are all just speculations. We will just have to wait and see.

By the way, I don't know if this is normal behaviour for American media but why in the ****ing world was CNN calling all stores in the mall during the heat of the attack? What the hell are those people even thinking?

The incidents were in the US. This is Germany, which as far as I know has gun laws similar to France's. That means people can privately hold guns after they pass a full background check, hold no criminal record, and have a very good reason for wanting one. Ammunition is only sold at shooting ranges, and any surplus needs to be stored or surrendered upon leaving.
Germany is also one of the countries with the lowest gun homicide rates. It's even lower than the Netherlands (source), where guns are even harder to get, and are inspected by police annually.
Also, as the WHO's European Detailed Mortality Database shows, in Germany assaults with knives have a much higher death toll than assaults with any type of gun (144 deaths over 42).
Thus my point: people that want to hurt or kill others will find the means to do so.

In the hands of civilians, guns are mostly used for sport shooting. Among police, guns are mostly just used to immobilize or intimidate a person - either people comply, or they're shot in the legs so they can't run. Guns aren't just for killing, and in the right hands they are rarely used for that.

Whats with all these attacks? And the the **** going down? Like???? Are we srsly going to end the world?

like ****.

Attacker apparently killed himself, police are thinking it was a guy who acted alone. Investigation is still ongoing.
Nine people were killed in the attack. 21 injured confirmed, I'm not sure how many are in critical condition.

And again....not another one :( I only said this after the France attacks.
Just what is going on in the world. The west is no longer even safe anymore. Still reeling from those poor lives lost in Orlando. It's just one after another

It doesn't matter. If guns were banned people always find a way to illegally obtain them. Say guns were banned and there was absolutely no way for bad people to get their hands on them... ?mile Henry, committed one of the first (or first) acts of terrorism by detonating a homemade bomb in a cafe in France wounding 20 and killing 1. Going back to your knife point, let's not forget about the Kunming stabbing in China where 8 knife wielders killed 29 people and injuring 140. One person may not be as dangerous with a knife, but in a group it can be very fatal. Furthermore, the Nice attack in France was done with a truck killing 84 and leaving hundreds injured. My point is that people are crafty and will always find a way to carry out these evil acts with guns or no guns if their ill intent is strong enough.
