Alright, I had a cardboard bed in Re-Tail which is an unorderable. And Eugene wanted to buy it but knew it was expensive. I don't think you should believe this.

if you're on incredible terms with the villager that is purchasing, may be possible. but i read somewhere that the max is 9999 or original retail sell value x 4 - 1

When you tried were all your items non orderable? The TC had all non orderable items at a high price when it happened.
So if you only have one item at a high price they'll pass. They'll go for the regular price items.
Plus it didn't just happen, I have had unorderables in re-tail for months now, granted I don't often speak to villagers when they ping me in the shop. I tried again yesterday when a villager was in the shop and he passed on all items. It's probable just random.
