Shipping your villagers or even your mayor? >///<

I have occasionally shipped stuff in games (mostly in Fire Emblem but I've shipped a couple [human] pokemon characters) but in AC I never even really considered it since it's animals, you know? It just makes me think of...gross illegal things so I feel weird even thinking about shipping anything.

I know what you mean. I just don't think about those sorts of things is all. It never really crossed my mind xo

Haha definitely... in my husband's town, there is an interesting dynamic between Bill the duck and Tangy the cat. The way they would talk about each other, we assumed Bill and Tangy were "dating." Tangy constantly left her shirts over Bill's house, and she even left... *ahem*... her cherry at Bill's house (the fruit, but wow, the symbolism).

So eventually, Bill started practically flirting with the mayor and hanging out with the male characters in the town more. He was sorta ignoring Tangy for a while, who got pretty upset. Then Tangy showed up at Bill's birthday party and she wouldn't even talk about Bill or his birthday, and instead just talked about the other party guest . The next day, Bill mailed the mayor a doghouse item for coming to his party. My husband says "I guess Tangy put Bill in the doghouse!" The whole thing was and continues to be a very amusing imaginary relationship for us XD

Sorry for not replying to everyone individually, but thanks for sharing with me guys. I love when a good conversation gets going like this, and while I'm not always the most active person on a thread, I do take the time to read every comment.

This was fun to read. I also find this very amusing. I love how silly this game can be, but it's just so much more fun for the older players I think. The older we are, the more thinking we can put into the game and what's said or done. We can easily flip things around to make them funnier.

Back when Agnes was in town, I would ship her with Antonio. She would always say a lot of things to him that implied that she had a crush on him, but Antonio being the dork that he is, didn't understand anything that Agnes said. It was both hilarious and adorable to watch.



Honestly, I could never why crushing over anthropomorphic animals is that much of a bad thing. Yes, they're animals, but here's the thing -- they have the mindset of a human. They can tell whether stuff is right or wrong, they can speak out things and they do things that humans do like wear clothes and play games. If these animals (smug villagers especially) flirt with humans, then why can't humans do the same? It's not like those sort of people who crush over animals want to do that sort of stuff with them all the time.

But hey, that's a completely different subject, and one that I don't really like to like to associate it with ACNL.

I'm not really saying it's bad, it's just for me personally I find it kind of odd, which is why I don't do it. Even if they have human like qualities (the ability to talk and all), I still see them as animals. I was just voicing my opinion, not attacking anyone.

I ship O'Hare and Carmen in my town- that's the main reason I adopted Carmen, haha XD I get so happy watching them interact! They have the cutest conversations, and I love when they swap catchphrases and outfits x3 And when I talk to O'Hare so much that he goes deep into thought, he's always thinking about getting flowers for Carmen... <3

Actually I've always thought that even villagers with the same personality can be very different. The difference between Lopez and Kyle is really noticeable for me, they have similar dialogue sometimes but it still feels new when they say it.
Anyway, I'm a bit obsessed with Lopez so my mayor tends to hang around him a lot....he's always sending me lovely things in the mail and inviting me around. The other day he said something about if I lived with him he would be happy all the time. He's just so sweet....
I tend to ship the octopi together wherever possible too. Marina and Zucker spend a lot of time together with my intervention, they're just so cute!

Roald was one of my starting villagers. He pinged me twice as much as the others. He told me how to use the camera so I could see his rippling bod anytime I wanted. He showered me in gifts, one of which was a heart tee. He was the first to ask me over to his house as well as the first to ask to visit my house and in one of those cases I can't remember his exact words but it was something along the lines how it was time to take our friendship to the next level.

What was I suppose to think? Of course I ended up shipping him and my mayor as it was pretty clear he was crushing on her in a major way.

I still have him. This was the first year I was around for Valentine's Day, and Roald gave me chocolate and this letter about how rivals can exchange hearts. You are never, ever leaving, sweetie.

Lol how precious! I think Erik is really cute too. He's one of my favorite deer, and if I didn't already have two lazies I probably would've adopted him over Diana. >.<

I think shipping in this game is kind of really weird because they're animals so I don't do it. Especially not my mayor with a villager, that's...kind of wrong lol

I think the issue is more with how you perceive "shipping" tbh... I don't think of "gross illegal things" at all... they are characters and not in the slightest sexualised... I find it quite odd that you would even jump to that conclusion if I'm honest... I think when most people are talking about "shipping" their villagers, it's more in a platonic, crush/relationship kinda way... not some mad woodland orgy :/ It's really not "wrong"... the villagers even talk about it themselves

Edit: Sorry... I wanted to add... the way my villagers talk about each other, sometimes comes across the same way that my 8yr old son talks about his "girlfriends"... not some serious heavy relationship... more like a childhood boyfriend/girlfriend kinda thing... that's how I perceive it anyway.

In my second town, Pippy and Wolfgang are like super adorable together. They have the same Modern Shirt and they like to walk around together. They even fished together. I think it's so cute they are the same blue color and agh, I can't take how adorable they are. I shipped them together. Also, I find it funny how Wolfgang's house is on the far east side of my town and Pippy's house is on the far west of my town; Yet they still hang out and do stuff together. Plus, Daisy sees everything and always talks about Pippy having Wolfgang at her house. I've even sent them letters asking what's up with them and they deny it. Just like a normal "crush" relationship. haha ^^
