So I'm finally getting around to making this thread after s4e1 completely emotionally devastated me.
bbc Sherlock is one of my favorite shows right now and with a new ep tomorrow I'm getting super nervous after what happened last time.
So here's some of my thoughts:
For s4e1 I loved the beginning of the episode with sherlock off the hook yet again and back in action solving crimes with john, Mary, and their new baby. tweet-obsessed Sherlock and balloon john were hilarious!
Baby Rosie was adorable and I loved sherlock trying to babysit. i definitely want more sherlock and rosie interaction in the future!
Overall I really loved the new family dynamic the baby brought. everything was perfect. maybe a little too perfect in hindsight, the calm before the storm. which brings me to: HUGE SPOILER ALERT BELOW
The only thing I didn't really understand was john's implied affair. it came out of nowhere. at no point has he ever indicated his relationship with mary was going downhill or that he was discontent in any way. I don't really understand why he would want to have an affair except for the fact that it makes spoiler mary's passing even more sad for him, since he never told her about it.
Since the next one comes tomorrow I'm getting super antsy.
I'm especially terrified for baby rosie, since john never had a child in the books. But I'm honestly wondering how much more they can put the poor man through.
If anyone on here watches sherlock too I'd love to hear you share your thoughts on this season.

Mary's death killed me inside. She was one of my favorite characters on the show. Possibly even my favorite.
I didn't know she died in the books, so her death took me by surprise.
It's fitting that she died taking a bullet for sherlock though.
Her dying really effected me powerfully. I NEVER cry over tv shows or movies, but after I watched this I went straight into the bathroom and cried. I'm so sad thinking about how sherlock blames himself and john alone with the baby now.
