I'm working on my mayors house and I only fully completed 2 out of the 6 rooms in her house, lol.
I'm currently having a hard time on which sets would look nicely together.

For her room, I'm using the princess set. I was thinking of mixing that with the regal, but idk?
For the bathroom, I used the mermaid set with some typical bathroom items. I like everything but the flooring and walls. Currently using the bathroom tile for floors and mermaid wall for the walls.

Anyone have suggestions for what sets would look nice together?

Also, I'm kinda stuck on what I should do for my basement and main room.
For my main room, I was thinking probably like a living room/family room set up. Couches, tables, not too much.
For the basement, I was thinking either a library type space or an arcade. Don't know which one would be better.

What'd you guys do for those rooms? (Feel free to take my ideas lol)

For my bathroom, I'm combining it with the stripe set.
I think Princess and Mermaid would work well, but you used them already... well, if there is a fairy set I think that would match well with everything else, like, mystical themed sets or something?

An arcade would be super cool for a basement. Maybe something really retro looking?
I made a garage band basement and I love it so much hahaha.

Stripe set would look cool. I've actually never seen anyone use that set yet. The only fairy tale themed set I could think of besides princess is sweets (according to HHA) but I don't see those two working well together. I shall keep looking though.

I do like a retro arcade! Maybe I could incorporate stuff from either the robot or astro set. Re-color some stuff, maybe? Love the garage band theme omgg. Creative!

I use the stripe set in my bathroom actually. In green. It works really well as bathroom furniture.

As for retro, yeah add like a jukebox, a few lovely items, maybe citrus stuff and astro stuff.

One thing that might make a fun room is a sort of oriental lounge theme, but done without using ANY items from the exotic set.

It's a little challenge that makes for more creativity and variety in those style of rooms; I mean, who doesn't have a streetpassed house with the full red-and-black exotic set in it?

XD

I'm currently mixing my mermaid set with regal and refurbished white ranch items, if that helps? :)
