I just wanted to hear about the personal reasons people love and hate their villagers! ;u;
Spent so long looking for a dreamie that when you got them it was bittersweet? That kitty looks just like your cat in real life? Goshdarn Rasher pinged and ran into your path when you were getting chased be a tarantula on the last night of tarantula season and you'd yet to catch one?! Tell me them all!

Some of mine are:
Filbert: When I was 10 or 11 and deeply in love with Animal Crossing Wild World, a kid in my class would tell me all about his town, which of course was far more advanced than mine. One of the things he told me was about a marriage system, and that if you got married your bed would turn into a double, and your villager spouse would move in with you, and when you'd been married for while you could adopt a baby animal as your child. He told me he married Tiffany, and adopted Katie as his child. Which led to me sending countless letters to Filbert, who I'd caught in dialogue with other villagers saying things about how he liked me, then blushing, so I assumed he was a marriage candidate. All of the time I spent "romancing" Filbert paid off though - I got his picture and he got a permanent fixture in my heart.
Dotty: A little Scottish bunny who welcomed me to my first town. Before I understood catchphrases, I thought hers was a pet name for me specifically. I adore rabbits too, so I naturally gravitated to her. I think she was the first villager to give me their portrait too.
Shari: I've grown to quite like Shari, but something about her just annoys me since she moved right next to me, exactly where I was going to put a little private garden. >o< I think she's cute, but goshdarn ANYWHERE else would've been fine!
Limberg: A mouse that I cannot stand since he was constantly rude to me in AC:WW and literally didn't move out for a year. >o< Every time I see his smug five-o'clock-shadowed face I want to pick him up by the ears and fling him into the ocean.

So go on, tell me your stories! ;u;

I have only had two villagers I held a personal grudge with, the first was Octavian who moved right in front of my house and refused to move so long I wound up with three villager pics somehow. He was a very early villager and I was still learning the game so when he first asked to move and changed his mind I assumed that using reverse psychology would work better next time. It was relatively fun and innocent rivalry, I'd send him threatening letters, plant pitfalls near his house, and when he asked for furniture I'd give him an octopus for the lols. By the time he decided to move his last act was to suggest a pwp, he was alright despite being my 2nd least favorite villager ever. I think everyone could use a rival all things considered, someone to take the brunt of pitfalls and hammers when you love all your other villagers too much to torment them for no apparent reason.

Then there's Conformity Rory and his Curse of the Periwinkle Tee, I mention this story every time I find a topic about hated villagers so I made a point of giving my Rory his own nickname. That evil lion apparently started some kind of cult because in the less than two weeks he spent in my town he managed to get over half my town into periwinkle tees... I despise that tee... Every time I see a periwinkle tee I think of Rory. I tried to intercept a conversation he was having with Curlos but I was too late and he changed right in front of me (this is why my avatar is Curlos in a periwinkle tee scarf). Luckily my Rory left faster than any other villager, if he stayed any longer I'm certain he would have taken over my entire town. I had been planning to void Rory, he's tier 5 and I didn't see a reason to advertise his move but then fate stepped in with an odd twist that pretty much sealed his nickname in my mind. I used to use a forum called JVGS before I used Bell Tree and the forum moved so fast it was practically a chatroom and on that day someone was asking for villagers for an all-lion town and Rory was one of the three lions the guy was looking for. Through pure luck this lion that tried to bring such conformity to my town found a town that he could truly belong in. I'm not sure whether to be happy for Rory or not considering the immense hatred I have for him but at least he isn't lurking in my void waiting for an unsuspecting victim.

As for good villagers I'd say practically every villager I had was great, if not by first impressions then by growing on me over time so I couldn't name them all but for sentimental value I'd say one stood out the most. When I first started up my town Bangle was one of the villagers waiting outside the train station and I made a point of talking to her first. She was around longer than any other villager, she lived on the opposite side of the map from me but I still talked to her every day. There were only two villagers I liked more than Bangle. The first was Fauna who I saw in my campsite and invited in, I already had two deer and I was uncertain at first about overcrowding my town with too much of one species but I grew to love her (and then she kicked off a bizarre trend of deer moving in every time one moved out, I've had all but three deer). The next was Whitney, the first villager I ever bought, it took weeks of stalking villager trading forums for her and I just adore her, I like wolves but the only wolf to ever appear in my campsite was Wolfgang and it happened the first time I reached ten villagers so I had to put in the effort of finding someone selling a wolf. Bangle was around for all the major events of my town, from the deer trend to The Curse of the Periwinkle tee (as Rory's closest neighbor she was unfortunately the first to join his little cult). I was sad to see her go but I was going for a medieval fantasy town and there was little room for a tiger, but this was not the end, for I later included her in an animal crossing fanfiction.

Lobo was an original in my first town, and in my first week he asked me to catch him a stringfish. It was the first time a villager had requested anything from me so I was 100% determined to catch that fish. I fished all day, and the next day, and the next day (I didn't realize requests timed out after a day) and finally I googled stringfish to see if I was doing something wrong and realized how rare it was, and I was pissed. Wtf, Lobo.

OK so
Francine: This little butt moved in front of my house. Right on my path. Now I could fix it but I'm too lazy. I was gonna sell her but I actually got to know her and fell in love. Even though she lives in a terrible spot I'm still keeping her and even got Chrissy so she wouldn't be the only bunny in town.
Colton: I was over at my friend's house and she was a surprised when he loved into her flower garden. She was extremely upset and angry. We looked him up tobsee what he looked like and once again instantly fell on love. I was so jealous that she got him but now I have him too uvu

The Golden Trio:
Poncho: My MAIN man! He has been in my WW game for literal years! When was younger I had the biggest sort of crush on him. I would send him love letters and everything, and I'm pretty sure hes the first villager to ever give me their picture. Every now and then I'll start up my WW game just to make sure he's still there. If he ever moves out of my NL town I will literally cry. I may even restart just so I don't have to cycle through 16 villagers to have him again. It's that serious.
Ruby: I love her. She was also in my WW town for quite some time but she moved out :/ . I loved her because she was always up late at night and she since she has a spaced themed house, visiting her house a 3-4am was just so relaxing. I also have her in my NL town.
Jeremiah: He was in my GC town and I remember one time I was walking around, looking at all my villagers, aware that the game is filled with corny jokes/easter egg sort of things. (Apollo the Eagle. Eagle is US bird and Apollo 11.) So, I go over to his house and he's wandering outside and I'm like "wtf does the name Jeremiah have to do with being a fro-.....Jeremiah... was a bullfrog...). And from that moment on I was in love. He has sadly moved out of my NL town due to my ignorant tting.
~
Others:
Buck: I was in like the 3rd or 4th grade and I fell asleep in class and I had a nightmare about Buck. He was in my WW town as well as my NL town.
Lucy: She moved into my NL town and I FELL. IN. LOVE. I remember giving her so much attention during the first firework show I ever experienced in NL. I remember seriously considering adding her to the main group I was so in love. She moved out.
Goldie: I had a golden retriever dog named Gracie that I grew up with. I was absolutely heart broken when she died 5 years ago. Goldie just recently moved into my town and I call her Gracie instead.
Peanut: I DO NOT. Like Peanut! She was in my WW town and I hated her with every fiber of my 11 year old being. I think one time she said something that genuinely hurt my feelings (shes snooty) and it was over. I used to beat her with the net.

As I've said other places on the forum, Quillson is my public enemy number one.

For starters, he's one of ugliest villagers in the entire series, so he didn't exactly leave a good first impression when he moved in. From there, his already bad reputation fell through the floor once he started actually doing things in town -- we're talking about a perfect storm of awful here.

No gets along with him. Literally no one. I think Jacques and Derwin tolerate his presence every now and then, but that's really about it -- I've never seen him associate with anyone else consistently, nor have I heard any stories from my other villagers regarding his connections. Not that I can necessarily blame them -- the only thing he seems to talk about is himself, even more so than Jacques. On top of that, he's given me some of the most absurd requests I've heard from any villager, including one I like to refer to as "Arowanagate," where he decided to ask me to catch an Arowana, one of the rarest fish in the entire game, only for me to find out he already had one displayed in his house when I went over to drop it off. He's still in my town unfortunately, but I'll be glad to boot him out of town once he gets tired of Ryland.

It's a shame you can't establish your own town holidays as mayor; otherwise, I'd totally have created some sort of "Abuse Quillson Day" already. At least then he'd be good for something, lol.

As for good relationships with other villagers, Pashmina has been nothing but awesome. Really nice, always patches me up after I mess with my trees, gives me free stuff all the time, etc. Just really awesome in general, and I didn't even have to go out of my way for her -- she just moved in on her own. Mitzi and Roscoe also deserve a mention, with Mitzi being too adorable for words and Roscoe generally acting as the town badass.

I loveeee Flurry she has always been my all time favorite villager!! She's always really nice and polite with everyone and i love that. I always use her as a test for how well a villager fits into my village. If Flurry has a problem with someone, so do i!! She's the main reason why i gave Cookie the peppy dog away. I thought Cookie would be a great addition to my town, but she always fought with Flurry and made her sad. I just couldn't stand seeing my favorite hammy sad all the time. COACH is one villager i have to say is extremely underrated. I had him for many months and he was always fun and crazy! I loved how he talked to everyone and gave them tips on how to be successful in everything they did xD Even though he was great, i told him that he could leave when he asked to move. I was dumbstuck when he started acting rude to me. He had never been rude to me before, but i guess it somehow hurt him that i was letting him go. He got voided and i felt a little bad because he was a nice villager, but i remember how he started acting rude and i brush the feeling off

I guess I don't have any grudges. Molly and Keaton moved in really bad spots over two years ago. I had just started and didn't know how to plot reset or stop villagers from moving. I just kept them and redid the entire landscaping around their houses.

Blaire was in my gamecube town. I really liked her and so did my kids.

Me and my kids would hit Freya on the head with a net several times a day. We liked making her mad for some reason.

Twiggy was also in my gamecube town. I thought she was a male. I just recently learned that Twiggy is female. I always liked her, but it was strange finding out that I had thought she was a male for so many years.

Hazel is just plain cute and sweet. I don't have her in any of my towns, but I just adore her.I like talking to her in dream towns.

Baabara is a *****. She looks and acts like my mother in law. I keep her, but she's my least favorite.

Ohoho I feel I have a lot of grudges.
Mostly with villagers who moved their plots in the worst spots, refused to ever move, or flat out terrified me.
I can't stand rocket omg. She wouldn't move and I wasn't a fan of pink donkey kong. Whenever she changed her shirt, her arms still had pink sleeves. Because her skin is supposedly supposed to look like the sleeves of her default shirt lol.

Wart jr scared me. Like a walking disease he was.. His scary cranky voice. Not a fan of Crankies in general.

And Rory. I won't ever forgive you for moving your house MILLIMETERS away from the front door of my house and in the middle of a pathway. Omg. And on all my flowers. Sigh.

But some personal sentimental ones would have to be Benjamin the dog, and hazel the squirrel.
Benjamin was always checking up on me, giving me things, a sensitive lil bb, and never asked much in return. I don't really care for dogs so he was hard to let move away but still always in my heart. And hazel is a cute squirrel with a qt unibrow.

I do not like Tipper. She's an absolute jerk to me and the other villagers first of all, I remember Punchy getting upset after a convo with her. Second She's sold me 2 fake paintings at ridiculous prices, third she will not move, I had her ping once to move and I said yes ( guess what, she said she changed her mind and wants to stay GAHHH >:(). Forth on her birthday, I got her a classic bed and a week later, she pings me and gives it to me like it's junk.

Now that rant is out of the way, I like Biskit, Punchy and Hamlet a lot. They are never leaving my town because they're very cool villagers who've given me awesome stuff and are nice people. Biskit was also in my Original Gamecube AC town so yeah he technically was a part of my gaming childhood.

Fang used to be one of my favourite villagers but in my last village before I knew about plot resetting he plonked his house right in the middle of my fruit orchard and it really annoyed me every time I was gathering fruit, and now I just can't stand him!

Shari actually lived 2 doors down from me, right next to Lolly~ Puck has her old plot now, but I actually loved having her as a neighbor~

Most sentimental: Lucha definitely. He's earned my spot as my favorite villager because he has probably given me my most heartfelt moment in the game.

When I got back into New Leaf, I wrote a small one-shot about K.K. Slider. This evolved into an entire story which revolved around a theoretical backstory and the meaning behind the song "Stale Cupcakes," which is my favorite K.K. Slider song due to its sad nature and the feels it brings.

Writing that story was huge for me. Like really huge. It was the first story I'd finished in a while and I enjoyed writing it so much. Well, a bit after finishing it, Lucha sent me a letter saying "Whenever I hear Stale Cupcakes, I think of you...weird, huh?" and the coincidence was so strong in him that I immediately ordered another copy, found a giant clam, and made Cyrus craft a music box. I sent it to Lucha with one of the musical letters, in which I input the intro to Stale Cupcakes. I then ordered ANOTHER copy and sent him the actual song.

Now Stale Cupcakes plays in Lucha's house~ I never knew animals would change their music, so not only was it a great discovery but every time I visit my Lucha, I'm reminded of that beautiful moment. I love that little pixelated wrestler bird beyond words...

Now as for grudges...

...I sorta don't have any. I used to hate Wolfgang for giving me a rough time moving and then refusing before I remembered resetting was a thing. He cost me a lot of IGB but after coming to Belltree and achieving everything I needed without the need for those IGB, I sorta find myself not minding what he put me through much anymore.

But I've never really had an animal destroy anything. Every "bad" plot ended up being more than workable. Even plot resetting, I've had difficulties getting them to reuse certain plots. So I just re-constructed and transformed the old plots into pretty areas. Kitty's old plot got the Zen Bell. Agent S's old plot got the normal bell. Celia's old plot became the illuminated tree. etc. etc.

I think the only grudge I really have is...I really dislike Claudia. She didn't move into a bad spot or anything. I just remember she moved in and within a few days, she was stomping around everywhere and making all of my animals mad. I'd never had an animal cause so much trouble in a village before. Celia and Agent S had their fights, but they weren't overly disruptive. Claudia literally had every single one of my animals angry at some point during her stay.

Now I see her on my Main Street and since I have all my dreamies, she is never gonna leave. Knowing that bites a bit. But I tolerate her because she's there and not in a home in my happy little village that has become 100x better since she left.

But yeah that's really the extent of it.

Clyde He was one of my first 5 and I only just let him move out because I loved him too much. When I did let him go, it was to my brother's town. I got his picture in the goodbye letter.

Flora She was also one of my first 5. As a child I've always loved flamingos and the fact that I had a flamingo in game in a series that I've loved since childhood just made me smile. Sadly, due to a TTing accident, I lost Flora. She will always remain in my heart.

When I first started Wild World, Yuka called me an idiot and I took it personally because I didn't fully understand the game yet. Hated her ever since.

Tom, my favourite villager in New Leaf, has sentimental value to me. :)

Gruff has sentimental value to me because when he says my name it sounds exactly like my baby brother's pet name for me :)
Bunnie is one of my faves because she was my first ever female villager on wild world and she's so adorably cute and fluffy and aww!
