Sent home from the island?

Basically my mother was playing my acnl and went to the island to try and catch some bugs and whatnot. So she saw a scorpion (so she says.. Might've not been) missed it, and was like oh well.. Then went behind a tree (she was just going to wander around the trees) Swore she saw something on her foot next thing she knew her game faded black and it sent her home apparently. What? can you get stung by a scorpion and be sent home or something? Or what happened? Sorry no pictures because she wasn't fast enough.

Did her items in her inventory disappear? It would suck to have an inventory full of golden stags just to have a scorpion knock you out.

Scorpions and Tarantulas don't appear on the island though... O__o
Unless every guide/wiki I've seen is wrong, but I doubt that.

I really doubt this happened, to be honest. The island is set in August anyway, so tarantulas are out of season. Only scorpions would be able to appear if they were programmed to.

This thread is coming from a secondary source though, and it just doesn't seem very believable.

Well, the island isn't set in a single month, because monarchs dont come until september, but you see those on the island, and the palm tree bugs stop coming in september (July-August, Goliath beetles come in June-August) Also, Tarantulas come June-August, Scorpions come July-September.

They aren't available on the island. I'm constantly on the island all day and night and not once have I seen a single tarantula or scorpion since I've unlocked the actual island on like June 11th.
Either OP is lying or their mother is confused and probably thinks the beach is the island.

Not to mention OP keeps editing post anyways

I wonder if maybe this island gone to was an actual island in the town itself. My town map has something that kind of resembles an island...
