I recently was very excited to adopt Rudy, the most magical cat-being in the universe, to my town. However, excitement turned into anxiety after 10 minutes of plot resetting. I discovered my cleverly planned paths are now probably the most unforunate thing I could have ever done in my animal crossing history. I thought designating 4 house plots among my village would be ideal for new move ins...

But of course, Murphy's law dictated that all my efforts were in vain because always something WILL GO WRONG . I, not concerning myself with the last demolition of a yellow bench strategically placed to keep villager houses away, foolishly adopted a villager before I could erect a fairy tale clock in its sted. So instead of perfection, I have this...

At the moment I feel I have two decisions
A) Keep resetting and pray
B) Let Rudy destroy all my plans and let his house be there

Please help me figure out what to do. My heart breaks.

P.S. sorry for the horribly orientated photos ):

if you haven't played as any previously created character yet you can TT back to the day before he plotted and lay down more paths!

Thank you so much!! I will try this now. I just go bacm to the day Rudy wasn't supposed to be there with a pre-existing character, place paths in that spot and then I can still plot reset? Rudy will not be there when I time travel to yesterday?

yep the day right before rudy plotted, and then TT forward to the day he plots!! it wont count as an extra day :) I had the same problem yesterday with marty, and then someone told me this was possible and after i did it it only took a few more tries to get him in!! all those hours of my life wasted lol...

you can do it multiple times too, I kept missing gaps so I had to TT back like 5 times lol

but just to be safe you could start as a new character when you TT back, and his plot shouldnt be there!

Yep. I did the exact same thing when plotting Chief. You're safe as long as you don't play as your mayor.

I can't thank you enough. I thought I had been doomed. Now I just hope the house plots I made arent too small for Rudy to move in. I will find out soon enough! :lemon:

If they're 3x3 it's enough! If it still doesn't work you could always TT back again :p

Just always be sure to not load up on your mayor until you're sure he can plot in that place. I made that mistake with Claude, had left him a place plenty big enough but he still went on my paths. Because I had loaded up my mayor he was locked in...
Still not sure what the problem was and I've not had that issue since but it's worth bearing in mind :)

I will use plot resetting to move try and move in one of my dream villagers after Toy Day since I'm not moving out anyone until after Toy Day (don't worry, I know how plot resetting works). This is one of the many reasons why I no longer use paths however (I already had a path before and I walked over it so much that the grass below it turned into a natural path so I no longer need it).

Yessssss. At first he moved in a crazy spot snugged between the mayor office and harveys campground but then he placed himself in one of the plots. Hallelujah.
