Seems like I am scammed...Am about to AFK

I traded Fanua for Julia yesterday with someone. She came and invited Fanua and promised me she would get Julia ready today.

I felt really sad with Fauna leaving my island but all my normal villagers are repeating their dialogues so I want to find her a good home in stead of trading her for NMT or bells. Julia is my name so I always wanted Julia the snooty ostrich on my island.

However, today she told me that after she TT Julia out and went to the next day, Julia just disappeared(never went in boxes). I have never heard of this bug, but I trusted her and proceeded to ask her if she could offer any other villager today so that I won't get randomly assigned.

She told me she will compensate me with Julian.

And then she stopped replying. It's 1am rn and I am short on NMT. Plus there is no way for me to stay over night for finding villagers since I have work tomorrow. I will get randomly assigned tomorrow.

I wanna cry. Literally why. Why are you promising something you could not do? I hate my self for trusting strangers on this forum.
I guess I am dumb.

I will quit playing if tomorrow I got assigned some random stupid looking villages.

Thank you all for your reply. It's just I have heavy pressure in real life already. I have never thought of being cheated on this "dream" island.
One really nice person reached out to me with Julia's amiibo. I would take the risk.

I saw someone on the New Neighbor Network doing a Sherb giveaway that said they TT’ed forward just one day and he was gone too instead of being in boxes. I have no idea if this is a thing, but I’ve sold/given away several villagers with no issues. If they do not respond at all tomorrow either I’d give them negative feedback and take the loss. Sorry

I'm really sorry you had to go through this. I haven't heard of that bug either, for what it's worth.

Would it be possible to put your system clock back to prevent it from ticking over to a new day and randomly assigning a villager? If you do TT, this might an option for you.

The thing is that she knew I only got the open spot today and promised me Julian again And I waited with trust the whole day. I decorated again for welcoming Julian.

Yeah scam or not, she doesn’t seem too concerned with your feelings. Unfortunately, all you can do right now is give her negative feedback and leave a comment in the feedback.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I agree with the post mentioning TT-ing back to the beginning of the day so you have more time to find someone to move in that better suits your tastes. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it could potentially help you from further frustration.

And absolutely leave them negative feedback.

Leaving negative feedback would alert other people before they trade with this person and would save other people from what you're dealing with. ; v ;

Hey i'm sorry you got scammed, that's terrible! While leaving negative feedback won't get Fauna back for you or give you Julia from this user, it'll help inform the TBT community so others don't get scammed too..

That really sucks, I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you're able to find Julia eventually, don't give up! For anyone else reading, trading villager-for-villager is always somewhat risky, but one of the best ways to do it is to "buy" the villagers from each other, then return the payment once both parties have adopted who they want.

There’s no way you can change the situation. But someone like that deserves the negative feedback so someone else doesn’t fall victim to a scam. I know I’m not alone in saying I always check feedback before engaging in any villager or amiibo card trades. People here are generally so nice and if I still had Julia’s card I’d scan her in for you and I’m sure there’s someone out there who can and would get her for you.
