Second Game Cartridge?

I've been considering buying a second game so I can TT to events and birthdays and stuff to get rare items, DLC and stuff I generally just need for my house without worrying about losing villagers. Is it worth it? I know New Leaf is only like $25 now, but I'm not sure if it's worth that just to finish up my house. However, no one seems to have the items I want whether I'm buying or trading ;-;

Every time I encounter a problem I always think "if only I had another cartridge" so I've seriously been thinking of it. I missed a lot of DLC because I stopped playing, so I'd be able to get all of that. I also missed a lot of bug/fish tourneys and two of my rooms in my house rely on those items, so I'd be able to get those without waiting a year. I'd also be able to cycle a lot of villagers and even give myself/friends cool villagers without worrying about it messing up paths or losing other cool villagers I'm trying to keep. Does this all seem like it could justify $25? I'm really awful at buying things for myself without someone else saying it's justified.

Do any of you have a second town? What all do you use it for? Do you regret it in any way?

I have a second town(which is Lilypad, of course.) And even with it being a glitch, I find it truly worth it to be able to see how happy people are to have obtained their weeding badges simply because of me! It's a great feeling.

Definitely! I got my bronze because of you ;w; Do you ever use it for TT'ing to dates for items?

Do you only want it so you can get your house items? If so, there are people selling a lot of rare items. What items are you looking for? I find it strange that no one seems to have them to sell to you.

I got a second cartridge because of I wanted to have another town and keep the fun going! Except that in New Zealand, Animal Crossing can range from $60-$70, even after like 2 years prior to its initial Japanese release...
I made a temporary Cycling Town, and also TT'ed to New Years to obtain the Zodiac items. And by cycling, it helped me to repay my kindness for this forum c:
Now I'm currently using my second town to build up a horror-themed town, like Aika Village. Although it's not even close to being finished...;-;

Oh I thought it was the same as it is in Australia? I bought a second copy for like $40 a few months ago

Yeah I'd definitely use my second town for cycling just to see what villagers I can get and hopefully supply others with villagers they want. It takes forever for someone to want to move out with no TT'ing.
I have no idea how people even build DA theme towns, but that's awesome! I'd love to visit once you're done, or in a testing stage ^^

I have a trading/buying thread here but no one has offered any of the rarer items I need. I've been checking shops and have got quite a few items but I'm still lacking some essential pieces. I have tons of IG bells to pay for items, tons of rare cataloged DLC and other unorderables to trade and I even offer a discount at my art shop with 10 wishlist items and yet I still haven't gotten everything I need ;-;
