Okay so I?ve time travelled a year into the future, and the only villagers who ask me to move are my regular move ins. I want the amiibo villagers to move because they?re in really bad spots, will they ever leave? I?ve read conflicting answers and all the threads I?ve seen are a few years old.

How many amiibo villagers do you have? From what I know, they won't move out unless you have at least 6 amiibo villagers, IIRC (or less if you have fewer villagers in total).

I'd also try becoming better friends with them, if you're not already doing that.

From my personal experience, scanned in Amiibo villagers don't ping to move until you have at least eight of them in your town.I had eight Amiibo villagers in my spare town once and that's the only time any of them have wanted to move.I scanned in about four Amiibos shortly after the update(which was at the end of 2016 I think)and not one of them has pinged to move.

7 of my 10 villagers were scanned in, some of them I’ve ignored completely and others I talk to and do favors for, still nothing :(

Unfortunately, Amiibo villagers have a naturally lower chance of asking to move out.

I made the mistake of making almost all my villagers Amiibo villagers in a previous town. None of them would leave except the regular move-ins. It's a horrid trap to get into, but it can't be avoided when using Amiibos.

I am glad that these villagers have a small chance of asking to move out. I didn't scan Astrid in for nothing. ^_^

If you have more than one card/figurine, can't you just scan him in again by using other amiibos to relocate?

This is probably your best bet to relocate amiibo villagers, OP. You need at least 1 other amiibo card of a villager you don't have and then simple kick out the villager that's in a bad spot with your temporary new amiibo villager. Once the temp villager has moved in, you kick them out again with the villager you want back. You'd have to do some planning by blocking off other areas with patterns so they don't move into another bad spot (which could be hard if you already have a finished looking town with lots of flowers and "open areas" already covered) and of course, a free space for an alt-resident just to be sure. Without an alt, there's the chance the villager will simply move into the same spot or plot in another bad spot you missed. I've read of people's experiences with tricky amiibo that always move into the same location, but as someone who tried this very recently to relocate a few villagers, I'm happy to say that in my experience they have plot in the desired location very quickly, probably in like 1-2 resets.

I ended up doing this, it took a few tries but they eventually moved to the desired spot, thanks everyone!

It is a shame we would have to have at least six Amiibo villagers and that they will probably not leave even then. Now that Nintendo has re-released Amiibo cards in North America, it would be great to get them at their original price.

But I only want maybe one or two Amiibo, and I’d like the ability to move them out. Because of this, I probably will never use any Amiibo.

(I really want Chai, the Sanrio elephant at some point. Realizing that the Sanrio may not ever be re-released, but I still don’t want any villager stuck in my town forever.)
