Scammers or uninvited guests stories?

Someone on this site (Not saying who) came over uninvited while I was doing a trade. They had an ice cream in their hand and started running through my flowers, began to grab items off the ground with out asking and then they ate their ice cream by mistake, freaked out, and shut off their 3ds which ruined my entire trade. I removed their FC and gave them a negative-wifi review.

They are the only one who has ever received a bad wifi review from me, but I wasn't the first one to give them one

Thanks to them, a no running sign is going right next to the train station.

It was quite a while ago, and I restarted over that, so I'm fine now. But thank you for the kind offer!

No problem! My old town (Kakiriko) was done in by a robber and I had to restart,so I know how it is

I usually don't have problems with this stuff... I trust most of the people I let into my town enough that I even encourage some of them to take two of my blue roses so they can breed them in their own town.

The only bad experience I ever had to deal with was a friend of a friend. My friend asked if I could add one of her friends and invite him to my town with her. I agreed because I figured, why not?

He was incredibly rude and obnoxious, trampled my flowers, stole my hybrids, and shook every tree he could find... and then my friend told me he wanted to go to the island and do tours together... Every message he sent was awkward and hard to read and he was making me seriously uncomfortable...

I deleted him from my friend list as soon as I finally got him to leave... Ugh. At least that was the worst I'd ever dealt with...

well, one of the reasons i started coming to this forum is because people here
tend to be a bit more reliable from what i can see. when i used to use tumblr
and instagram for acnl, hybrids were stolen every day and one of my friends
lost carnations and throwing beans. i've never had anything apart from petty
theft and island hostages. (੭ ･᷄﹏･᷅)੭ु⁾​

I've traded with 1000+ people and fortunately I have never delt with a scammer. I delete friend codes after trading so I don't run the risk of uninvited guess. the only problems I've ever ran into have been at the island, there have been some real weirdos on there. people trying to trap me there so I have to switch off my wifi, another person talking about how there was an alien in his room, people asking for bells, the list goes on...

Sorry that happened to you, it sucks when people do that. From what I've seen people at TBT are very reliable, but if someone ever does this again you can just turn the wifi switch off, or even just turn off your 3DS. Not only will this automatically make them leave, but your town will revert to the last save (which would be when you opened your gate), so any damage they did would be erased.
