So I dumbly archive my digital copy of animal crossing so I'm now in the process of redownloading it but will my save file still be there, I have 400 hours into it and really dont want to lose all that progress :(

I believe when you archive a game, the save file is saved, unless you choose to delete it, too... but I doubt you would've done that accidentally. So I would guess it would be.

From what I can find on this you should be fine, though admittedly I did not find much. :)

Yah, I can't say for sure since I haven't needed to archive anything in awhile, but back when I did it usually gave me the option the delete the save file... but I believe it saved it by default unless you said otherwise. But, again, it's been awhile 😅

Ok thanks I guess I'll just have to wait and see when my game redownload 😃 and hope for the best! I accidentally archived when I was trying to make room for a new game and picked Animal Crossing instead of Pokemon Let's Go 😥 opps!

Save data is stored to the system's internal memory as separate data. Even if your game is also saved to the internal memory, it should still be fine.
