Exactly why I have one. My paranoia jumped through the roof after my boyfriend's town corrupted.

I don't like PowerSaves.

That's horrible, but to be fair anyone who doesn't get (or believe in) power saves can't really complain when it happens. This seems to be such a common issue for people I'm really surprised Nintendo doesn't at least offer a back up for it ><

Oh, dear. I'm sorry to hear that! I have also lost a town that I really appreciated (in my case, because of a silly data deleting), but I managed to start a new one which I love and look forward to make as good or better than the one I lost. Cheers to you!

Data corruption as things did not save properly, usually due to playing outside of the game's boundaries, hacking, power saving, et. It is also known to happen for not saving after playing or, if its a digital copy, constantly taking out an SD card. You receive a message when the game loads up and your town/data erases and restarts.

0.o I didn't know that if you take out your SD card constantly that it might do a corruption...but what do you mean by taking out the SD card? Do you mean take it out while playing ACNL that it might cause a corruption, or just taking your SD card while your 3ds is still on? And what does an SD card do? I know that you can use the SD card and put it in your computer somewhere to upload screenshots and things, but can you do other things with it?

If you take out the SD while your 3ds is on, some files might get lost in translation, include ACNL data. So if you save the game, turn off the 3ds, then take out the SD, you should be fine. And yea you put the SD card into your computer to get screenshots and stuff, but for the wii you could exploit your town's data and modify everything through your computer with a few programs, so I am sure you can do that in this one too. I haven't hacked anything 3ds related so I don't really know haha
