I have had this happen. But I didn't have to reset my game. The red box of death appears saying your game is corrupted. I forget what I did. I didn't delete my game. I know I restarted like my 3DS. I also checked to make sure my game card wasn't dirty and cleaned it out.

Physical :/, It really does because I spent so much time on my town and such.

I've tried this many times and it hasn't worked at all. With the SD card about three times (gently) too.

I cleaned mine out and it didn't help ! I restarted my 3ds a lot and it still won't work. :x schucks.

The SD card plays a HUGE role in a lot of corruptions. If you regularly take your SD card out, make sure to gently dust it on occasion. And NEVER move/delete files unless you are certain it is what you are looking for.

My SD card seems kind of...messed up too. Twice I've taken it out just to put photos from AC onto my laptop, and both times my laptop got a BSOD within 10 minutes of the card being in it. Makes me scared it'll corrupt my game, even though I play on a cartridge and not digital.

Thank you! I didn't have it digitally, I had the physical copy. Although if I had the digital copy, I'd might be more cautious since of the rumors about it corrupting more.
