So it's September and I'm having trouble looking for salmon, let alone king salmon. I thought these things were supposed to be more common, but I rarely see any fish at the river's mouth, and when there is its usually just a char (which I thought was supposed to be rarer) or garbage. Is there some special trick to this? I'm fishing after 9 pm so I don't run into any more char, but the salmon still rarely ever appear.
Edit: I also have to mention that yes, I am doing "Save and Continue" to respawn the fish, but it still rarely pops up.
They’ll show up. Make sure you’ve got your red stuff in the “east because it’ll make your item luck a beast” if you haven’t heard about that yet because it helps.
My husband is having the exact same problem right now. I was able to find them all with no trouble in my new town, but he keeps checking his river basin and there are no fish there at all. He's been trying for 3 days with no luck at all. The best advice I can give is just to keep trying. They will eventually show up, but I understand how frustrating it must be.
It makes it easier to avoid fish you've already caught. What I do is scare off any fish whose shadow doesn't match the one I'm looking for. then I circle around my town doing the same all along my river path until one that matches spawns.
Just keep trying, I would just scare fish along either the river or ocean (whatever you want to walk along with)
Edit : After reading Rosered22's comment, I remembered that salmon appear all month, this might be a rumor but...from the 1st to 15th of September, they appear from the ocean mouth. Then, from the 16th to the 30th of September, they appear either all of the river or the northern waterfall. Remember, this is a rumor I heard so it may not be true.
Just keep trying. They'll eventually show up. Also, if I remember correctly, they appear from September 1st through the 15th, so you should still be able to find them.
