I've been in game for over 3 months now, and I've only has Sahara visit once. I kinda really want those tatami mats. *fumes*
Is there any way to coax her into visiting more often?
I don't think you can get her to come more often.but I have been playing a little while longer then you and I think she still comes by frequently.I have noticed that the art dealer and fortune teller are hardly even in my town now.

There is a way to time travel in the game to get things you want faster but I have only done this 1time and I don't really know how it exactly works. From what I hear it is tricky.
She should be coming once a week or so. Sometimes it's easy to miss her. I would make several trips around town each day to be sure. She won't be there if Redd or Katrina are visiting. Having a police station is great because they'll let you know if she's in town. Sometimes I don't see her, but the police tell me about her. Then I'll look around until I find her.
Agreed with Belle. She's one of those visitors who should be around once a week.
Something that will help is if you get the police station in your village. When you ask Booker/Copper for information, they'll tell you about who's visiting that day. If Sahara is in town, you'll know it after talking to them a few times.
if you have a police station you could ask the police if anything has happened in town and they might tell you about her being in town, sometimes it's hard to notice. you could get the megaphone and yell her name too to try to see if she's in your town. she should appear once every week, although some weeks she doesn't show up.
it sounds very unlikely that she has only been in your town once in 3 months though
