Rumors and Moving

I heard that Tiffany wanted to move last weekend from Del, but she wouldn't ping me because of the Fireworks show.
Now it's two days later, and she still hasn't moved (for which I'm grateful, since I'm trying to keep her) but now there are rumors about me going on about me being a green thumb.

I thought villagers wouldn't spread rumors unless no one wanted to move? What's the dealio?

I also can't get Tiffany to ping me, which is getting kinda irritating since I don't want to grab a wet suit from the island.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Load up to game, go to her house to see if she is outside, she must be outside. (If someone pings on you along the way, save and quit and reload). When you see her, walk past her in her slight and she will ping.

You don't necessarily need the wet suit, going on the beach where animals don't usually go and chilling for a while usually works as well.

But rumours about the mayor can still happen if someone's moving. It's when things like "rumours can be scary" come up that it means no one is moving (except potentially the animal you hear it from), if I recall the guide aright.

Just to add to this, villagers that are moving (that haven't yet pinged you about moving) will always be outside, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Eh, I didn't know that. Well that's new to me, but I swear I have had villagers inside who have wanted to move before in this situation..?

It might of just been an odd time she didn't ping on you, something must of interfered before hand, or she just didn't notice you very well to ping. I've had that happen before.

Villagers only ping when they're outside.

For then to mention that they're moving when they're in house only happens if they pinged you before (and you agreed on them to moving).
