"Original" refers to when a villager's house, catchphrase and clothing are their defaults and unchanged. I really only care about the house part though.

It doesn't. When you get a villager from another person's town, they retain their memory of the players in the last town they were in (meaning if you go to the town they move to and talk to them, they will remember you), as well as the contents of their house, catchphrase, and clothing.
