Rock Help!

So I'm trying to do that thing everyone's doing these days and make all of my rocks spawn in one specific area for easier farming/aesthetics. I've covered my entire island in paths & items apart from the spaces I want the rocks to spawn in. I made sure the rocks are evenly distributed across two different acres (though I've read conflicting comments on whether that's actually necessary or not). I've even given the rocks multiple areas to spawn and slowly reduced the spawn points down to where I want them to go, since I saw a comment saying sometimes that was necessary to "reset" the rock spawning. NOTHING IS WORKING.

I've gotten four of the six rocks placed, and the last two refuse to spawn where they're supposed to go. It's been days, and they aren't showing up (and they're not showing up elsewhere on the island, either). I've tried with and without the fence.

From what I've read elsewhere, you can only have so many rocks in one particular acre, and people have been able to do all 6 because they were able to have them in two acres side by side (the edges of two). It seems like a pain but I think that's the only way you can.

edit: I re-read and see you mentioned that, but it's really the only thing I can foresee.

I can't help you with your rock problem, but I just found out you can walk on and put furniture on the rocks on the northern part of the island, so thank you for that.

That's the thing. As far as I can tell (it's kind of hard to see on the map), I do have it split over two acres. I have four of the six rocks spawned where I want them, so if that was the issue it would've stopped at three I would think? I'm just stumped.

I wonder then if other items in the acre can possibly affect it? Like if it would count trees...I've been thinking about doing a rock area myself so I'll keep an eye out here.

I wanted to post an update to this in case anyone else is struggling to get their rocks to spawn. Apparently rocks will not spawn behind cliffs (up to five spaces behind, I've read, which makes sense in my experience). So I had to demolish the cliffs in front of the rock garden, and boom! Rocks. I then spent a tedious month breaking rocks over and over again because I wanted certain rock "designs" in certain places.
