Roscoe wants to move. He's my last starting villager, and I've temporarily approved his request. I have a couple other villagers I like and I want, and Roscoe moving was never intended. He's a good cranky villager, I've been able to make him sound nicer, and just generally like him, but should I let him go and risk getting someone I don't like as well? I posted a trade, but have had no response. I just can't decide. I'd been waiting for Bertha to move to get Olaf, and Rosie to move for either Sprinkle or Flora. I had this all planned and now Roscoe is messing me up. To keep or not to keep?

Well, if you do let him go, I'm trying to kick out a villager for him, so I can take him. But, until you get that response, best to keep him

I think, as long as you're ok with it, you can let him go. Yes, you have planned that area out but it can be fun to make new plans and you'll also have room for a new villager you could really like.
Or maybe I'm just saying this because I don't really like Roscoe, haha.

Keep him, I say. It seems like you're just starting to get impatient if his moving was never intended.

Just keep him. You're only making the process longer by allowing him to move, since you won't get a mover between now and his box date, and the game won't give you another mover until a few days after he's long gone, whereas denying his request will only need a day to process the request and then you can get movers again.

Like really, if you don't want him to leave, don't let him. If you like him, let him stay. You like who you like and if you feel he fits into your place and you think he's good company, go ping him~

I'm keeping him, I honestly thing I would regret letting him leave. I don't think there are any cranky villagers I genuinely like better, and I don't want to risk it.
