Heres another one

Brad stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression he slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?
jumped down a coal chute?

lol, i've heard just about every riddle you can think of.

answer this one:
you're stranded in the middle of the ocean on a life raft with no food or water. you've been here for days, and you're on the brink of death. just as you're begin to settle in with the fact that you might die out here alone, a huge ship comes up beside you.
it stops right beside you to your amazement, but as much as you yell and scream, you can't get anyone to hear you. no one seems to have taken notice of you - they're just stopped for some reason. you look up, and there's a ladder 5 feet above your head.
the tide is rising 1 foot per hour, and you can jump as high as only 1 foot because you're so fatigued, so assuming the ship stays beside you long enough, how long will it take for you to reach the ladder, and climb your way to safety?
0, because it says "assuming the ship stays beside you long enough"...

So, even if it takes 5 hours for the tide to get 5 feet high...the boat would still be there, and you could climb up the ladder then?
