A random thought that occurred to me: I would find it interesting if the developers decided to re-use dialogue from, say, New Leaf, and they added new lines for villagers in New Horizons without getting rid of their existing ones.
I think it would create a nice continuity between each game. But, I understand that there may also be limitations on how much dialogue they can fit into the game and such.
Also, it may create too many discrepancies because some personalities were completely changed (Lazy comes to mind the most).
What do you think? Would you like to see some “old” lines or would they have become too stale already?
They didn't take it directly from New Leaf, unless it was the same in Japanese and just translated differently in New Horizons, but I saw a conversation between a smug and a lazy that was almost exactly the same as one in New Leaf. In it, the lazy says how the smug is so cool, knowing about lots of fancy foods. The smug then goes on to brag about the very fancy meal he had, describing either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (in New Leaf) or toast with jam (New Horizons) using very flowery language. The lazy marvels that the smug had something that amazing to eat, remarking that what he had was just a PB&J sandwich/toast and jam.
So... they're at least recycling concepts for conversations from previous games.
i kind of just want an update on their dialogues in general tbh. whether it be including a few old ones from previous games or brand new ones. a bigger variety to increase the quality of dialogues for each villager would help make the game even better. i really like to talk to my villagers everyday, several times a day but after a while, the same repetition of dialogues makes it so boring :/
I am so interested in seeing the dialogue from the older games, but they look so... old
I would absolutely love it if they just.. brought in ALL of the dialogue from all of the previous games, if possible. And added more dialogue to the newer personalities (Uchi and Smug)
I think this is such a bad idea. Why don't they just write good dialogue that they can update over time? Recycling dialogue would be the ultimate lazy move.
