I'm not talking about Pripyat; that's my permanent town.

I restarted my second town once again on September 30. I like the town and the villagers. But, well, here we go again!

Before I restart, I'll have to, once again, drop off 40 million Bells in Pripyat, along with my gold tools, wet suits and anything else I want my two characters to keep. It's such a chore, but it's like I'm addicted to starting over. I don't know if it's boredom or if I just want to keep seeing what I can find that's better... It's probably both, to be honest. I'm not 100% sure I'll do it, but I most likely will. I'd probably do it more often if it wasn't such a pain having to transfer things over. I'm not throwing away 40 million Bells, though! I really hope that one day I'll find the "right" second town for me and stick with it.

:p

I've been considering re-starting my second town because I'm bored with it but I put in so many house plot resetting that I'm hesitant to.

I have three towns, on three 3DS XLs with three cartridges. OK, you might say I'm a little nutso about this game. LOL But also, I restart all of my towns after 2-4 months, after I have nearly everything except Gracie's store.

I love, love, LOVE restarting a town! In fact, if/when I am feeling down or unhappy about daily life, restarting a town will cheer me right up. Like you, I transfer my bells and I wish there was an easier way to do it. Usually I empty my pockets and bring as many as I can per trip down to the plaza. I have my mayor from another town visiting, and she picks up each load and deposits it in her bank account as fast as my mayor from the doomed town can bring them down.

I also transfer: lamps, phonographs+music, dressers, any unreplaceable (Saharah) floors and wallpapers, tools, one basket of each foreign fruit, one bamboo starter, all of my hybrids, a couple of favorite outfits, a wetsuit, and probably a few other things. So, as you point out it can be a pain to do all this but it is worth it to have a new town. Anything I don't transfer, I sell and then transfer the money; for example, common furniture and wallpapers, or non-hybrid flowers. I chop down all the trees because I like doing that, remove all the paths and flowers and bushes, and try to get the town back to its virgin state as much as possible. Sometimes I even pay to demolish my PWPs before destroying the town. After doing everything I want to do, transferring everything I want to transfer, and starting a new town, I usually let my new mayor visit Shampoodle in one of my other towns. Since she's visiting anyway, to pick up all the stuff I transferred, she might as well.

I started my latest new town less than a week ago. This time I am letting the game decide who the new animals are and where their houses go, and so far they are all kind of so-so but their houses have been in good locations (imagine that, lol). Good luck with your new town!

I also do those same things, Carole. I have to drop the Bells over and over, while Belle picks them up to put in the bank. Later on, Belle has to lay all the Bells out again to be picked up. I also get my hair done in Pripyat's Shampoodle because (almost) all of the starter hairstyles look so bad to me. I also haul over fruit, hybrids and Gracie clothing along with the Bells and tools. It's very time-consuming and I'm not the most patient person on earth. LOL

Ahhh, but I love the excitement of a fresh, new town! :D

Yeah me too! I'm currently resetting for an all cat town and it's quite the pain

I think the first few days of a new town are the hardest. Especially as you've already got another town. I think as humans we automatically compare things and when you've invested so much time in one town and then restarted a 2nd town it can be hard.

I tried starting a 2nd town (on a downloaded copy of ACNL) a few times. I couldn't get past the first few days. Even with transferring things over. I just can't get past the fact that it's not my first town - the town that I fell in love with.

But hey, if you enjoy restarting and exploring new towns then who are we to judge? The beauty of the game is you get to play it how you want after all :)

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I've restarted my town a countless number of times! Truthfully, most of my games I've restarted more than once. Except in ACNL, i always have to drop off my stuff in my friend's town. Soon, he got so sick of me doing it, he refused to help anymore. Luckily the kind people of tbt helped me out! :D I literally restarted a few days ago. But i do think it is great that you keep a main town secure :)

The town I keep restarting is actually my original town! LOL. I played it for over a year, then got a second game in April (which is Pripyat) and then about two months later, I restarted the original town. Now I can't stop. :p

ive restarted my main town at least 8 times in the past two years [still dont have a second copy, but hopefully that will change come christmas ;)] and while i dont transfer over any bells, having to carry at least 500 items to my little brothers town ever time is never fun. however, restarting is very fun. i love the feeling while resetting of being Townless, of not knowing where you will end up. after trying to make very structured towns, resetting feels very freeing and is an opportunity for a clean slate. there are si many different layouts that its near impossible to have anything close to your previous one even if youre aiming for a certain look, and that's part of the fun. each town has its own little heart and soul and getting to grow it from a seed to a tree is all the fun.

Hopefully-useful tip: When I'm starting off in a town, I try and make all three additional characters asap and make them build their houses in places where I don't want villagers moving in, it really helps with plot resetting when you don't have access to lots of PWPs to take up potential move-in space. And then you can delete them later!

I don't plot reset. I always make my second (and only other) character 2-3 days after I restart and then the two of them build up the town together. :) I don't mind waiting for villagers to move. I may not even build a caf? this time. I never really use it or care about it.

Ah but you keep Pripyat ;) Haha. I suppose I'm so reluctant to restart Laputa because I once sold my WW cartridge and I've regretted it ever since.

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm in the midst of restarting my second cartridge town for the second time, all because I keep getting bored with what I'm doing with the town. I'm hoping I can at least keep the next town for a full year :P

I recently restarted my 2nd town and I find myself forcing me to play it. I HATE having to get all that approval again and it's even harder to get it since I can't talk to my villagers because it's a temporary cycling town. I'm TTing, but I want to give up. Restarting is fun, but hard.

I time traveled in this new town so much that I have all of the store upgrades (except for the Emporium/Gracie's) in one month of playing. I'd like to try playing day-by-day for once. Just to get started, that is. I think I'll start in March 2015, so I can enjoy all of the spring and summer bug catching and I'll get the upgrades at a natural pace. Once I have the Emporium, I'll skip forward to whatever the current date is (which should be in early 2016). But, we'll see how that plan goes. LOL
