Restarting for New Year 2026

I'm planning on restarting my island on the 1st January 2026, and I wondered if anyone else is planning on doing the same? I restart my island a lot (3 times this year!) but I'm setting myself the challenge of keeping my island for the whole of 2026. With the new update coming, it feels like a nice time to do this too, since many people will be coming back to the game after a little hiatus.


I'm not going to be too fussy about the map I get, but I'm wanting either peaches or cherries and a blue or yellow airport. I also need the largest peninsula as I always put my house on it! Other than that, anything goes.

I'm a bit stuck on an island name, so I thought I'd do a poll to see what others think.
1. Lilyacre - I've called my town/island this since New Leaf, and as much as I love it, I feel like it might be time for a change, to really set this island apart as my 'forever island'
2. Nutshell - I just find this one really cute
3. Sprout - I've never used this, but I think it sounds super cute.

I never do themed islands, but I guess if you had to say a theme, it would just be 'minimalist' and 'natural'. Think log furniture, easy to navigate paths, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the natural scenery.

Anyway, enough rambling!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m not too keen on the celestial-style names, I tend to prefer more nature/garden names, like plants and trees

Lily Isle is cute, although I do feel more and more draw to Sprout as the days go by. I don’t know why but it just sounds cute, and my flag could be a little plant sprout

Both Lilyacre and Sprout are nice names for an island if you wanted Sprout like you stated above you could have a cute sprout design as your island flag?

I really like Lilyacre but but I agree that it's the perfect moment for a new start and a new name

I buckled and went with Lilyacre, it just feels right. I did type Sprout and pondered for a minute or so but I decided I would likely regret it later.
