Restart Town?

Haven't been to this forum in a long time!!! I haven't played animal crossing for so long, I can't even remember. I'm wondering if you guys would recommend me restarting my town rather than carry on as I haven't played for so long. I didn't get far, it's not like I had the big upgrades and stuff. If I do restart I don't know if I should ask someone to hold some stuff for me or just start from square one to experience the game fresh again.

If you think I should restart could anyone suggest me some nature themed names for towns and mayors?? Also what map do you like!!!

If you have no particular attachment to your current town, I would say just delete it. It's easier to start fresh sometimes. Also, see if Tom Nook will buy your town. I'm finding that that can really help out. I have one town I started from scratch and one that I started after I sold my old town to Tom Nook, and I am here to say that starting from scratch is a lot harder than I remembered. So definitely get someone to hold items for you at least if you can.

From your situation, I feel like you should keep going since you didn't progress far. Ask yourself a few questions: Do I like the town layout? Is it worth restarting? Am I willing to give up my villagers for a fresh start? Weeds are another thing but you can just pull them up and help get you that weed badge on the way.

At the end of the day, just go with what your gut feels! Don't force decisions upon yourself that you know you'll end up regretting in the long run. If you restart, that's fine. As long as it makes you happy.
