Good call, Wish!

My two cents yet again: I restarted my town a month into the game, and it was the best decision I made. I got better starters and a better map, and I built my pwp in more sensible places. But if you're restarting over and over and over for silly things: I say just roll with the punches. Getting everything EXACTLY as you want it upon restarting may never happen. . .

I'm thinking of reseting for my town name + map, but I'll just paste what I wrote on my thread:

So, when I got my game on June 18th, I was so excited. I just wanted to jump right in, and I picked my map and town name willy-nilly. I didn't mind at first, but now I'm beginning to realize that my town map isn't really to my liking and I don't like the name. But I've put a lot of effort into landscaping and getting a few of my dream villagers. Should I reset? I mean, I've gotten so far in the game with my house, and turnips, and everything...

I mean, I can, of course, get people to hold my furniture, use the TTing trick so they can take my dream villagers/give them back to me, and hold my hybrids. But is it really worth it?

Cons(of current map):

Re-Tail much too far to the north
My house is in a bad spot
I don't like the name Sunville, I'd rather name it Snowhill or Snowlake

Cons(of reseting):
Need to regain things on Main Street
All progress is lost

I have to wonder if it's like the "post honeymoon state" kind of thing.

Like, it's been about two months since the game came out, and people have loved the game to death and a lot of us just kind of picked up the game and rushed into playing without thinking through the name and whatnot. Now that we've poured hours into the game, and our town, we're starting to pick up on every little thing we hate about the map we've chosen, or the name, or anything else and we want to start over.

Myself, I've been kind of humming and haaing about starting over but I've gold and silver tools, perfect town status, and over 6 mil bells so it's a lot to lose. :/

Well, you can have someone hold your Bells and tools, and it isn't hard to get Perfect Town.

I want to restart so badly, but I have so many items/house upgrades/pwps/good villagers that I don't think it would be worth it. I'm just going to try to love my town instead:)

If you want to restart verrrrry badly, then have someone hold important items and restart. You can get back everything you had before, it's not worth it to keep a town you don't like.

On that note, I've decided. I'M RESTARTING! Is anyone willing to hold my Bells for me?

I'm stuck on whether I should just restart the current game I have,
or if I should just purchase another copy and start over there...

I can't get back my badges, fish/bugs/pictures donated to the museum and enclyclopedia stuff right away :(

Man I'm so anal with this game. I've had it since release and I've restarted at least 7 times. I have like 330+ hours logged onto the game and like nothing to show for it, as I at last got a map I was happy with on August 1st. Never restarting again, sucked so much fun from the game and made me miserable. I stayed up for like 19+ hours resetting one time! Never. Again.

At least I finally have a map now, but, I've went from playing like 6+ hours a day to like less than an hour. There's only so much you can take!

Restarting my town was the best decision ever!
ive had my new town for 2 weeks 1 day now, and its AMAZING. in my original 10 i have SEVEN dreamies!! my layout is perfect, town tree in perfect place
i have all my bells back, and through trade now have more money than i ever had in my old one
i kept my pics, and also got new villager pics and its just perfect
plus i get to correct my ocd, of having every villager pic of everyone whos lived in my town, which i failed to do so on my old town, and is a tradition i had in WW, so none will be leaving until i have their pics ( I haveMuffy & Mitzi)

I think if I ever do restart I'll probably just buy another copy. I have gotten sooo far and I know for a fact I would regret it if I reset, even if I liked everything about the new town.

I restarted once, about 3 days after starting the game. Realized that my town layout wasn't great, and I choose a place for my house that I really hated. Given that I hadn't invested much time into the game it wasn't a big loss, though I'm sad that I had lost Boomer as a villager. Even though I'm really happy with my town right now I'm a bit worried about getting reset-fever down the road, that tends to happen to me regardless of what game I'm playing.

im happy I restarted. I have 2 copies. In my new town some of my neighbors from my japanese copy have come.. I didnt have that happen with the last town. Im pretty happy cause i can really talk to them now. I love my layout too has a big beach and my museum is on the other side :)

Restarted today. Best decision ever. I made a friggin' criteria list beforehand, and the town I have now meets every single little detail. So my OCD can't even complain about it. lol, what now, OCD. -3-

I even started off with one of my dreamies, one that seems pretty hard to get. Stitches. ♥ So excited, we're gonna be BFFL's. B/
