[Resolved] Question about the town petition 'quest'

So I've missed the deadline on this, which actually felt pretty gutting seeing as I'd collected all the signatures the night before - only problem being that everyone was asleep in my village by this time!

The name of the petition was 'No ventriloquism after dark' which strikes me as being so random that it's probably literally random, am I right there? Is it something I should really sweat? Would it have had an actual impact on something in my village or was it just a simple 'do something, get something' type exchange?

Their petitions are completely random and have no impact on your town whatsoever, so no worries.

The only thing I've noticed is that their petitions are sometimes related to their personalities (like something sleep-related for lazies and something sports-related for jocks), but otherwise it's random.

The only thing I think it would impact is your friendship level with that villager. Just like it does when you agree to get them a fish/fruit/etc and then don't follow through on it.

Well it was Drago who's a nice enough guy but not one of my absolute beloveds so nothing to lose sleep about. I did feel bad for failing to bury Olivia's time capsule though - she wasn't angry, just disappointed

It's so easy to forget about those capsules as well because they're in your letter inventory rather than your main screen. Anyway, that answers everything so thanks again for responding so quickly!
