Resetting your town?

I'm looking to get some advice from people who have/have considered resetting their towns
I've been thinking about resetting my town for some time before I get some really difficult villagers to get (i.e. Julian or Meringue) because I'm not a big fan of the town map I have.
I also want a fresh start in the game, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea.
I already have 4 of my dreamies, almost completely sold off my house, and have almost completed 3/4 sections of my museum and gotten a number of gold badges
If I were to reset my town, I would get a friend to hold a lot of my stuff that I couldn't easily get again, but I'm not sure if there would be any way to get someone to hold villagers for me.
So, I'm looking to get some advice about resetting your town and maybe some opinions on whether I should do that at all?

I was in a pretty similar situation as you back in the summer! My town map felt to small and there were too many obstructions to do cool things with PWP's! I had quite a few dreamies as well but I had trustworthy people hold the most precious ones and had my brother hold my items and money. It ended up being a really good decision, I found a much more open map, got back my residents and got to work!! I have no regrets resetting at all and even though it took some time to get Main Street to get back to where it was, I was really happy with my decision. But it's all based on what you want to do! Listen to your heart!

Well, my biggest issue with it really is my villagers??
the person who would hold my stuff probably couldn't hold my villagers because she doesn't TT
So, I would have to find someone else....

I would suggest looking for someone with a lot of good Wi-Fi feedback and who you find trustworthy. For whether or not you want to reset at all, think of pros and cons and what your reasons are. Do they reasons and pros outweigh the risks to you personally?

hm, I really honestly am thinking of resetting my town as long as I could find someone who will hold villagers/other items

that's what I'll have to do

and if I accomplish that, then I'm pretty open to resetting my town

bUT MY LANDSCAPING WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE AGAIN....

I went through this. I reset like two weeks ago, and I don't regret it at all.
I had the same problem as you, I really hated my map and found it really restricting.
Honestly, I'm really glad I reset, and the fresh start really makes me want to play again,
I felt like I rushed the game a bit.

ok, I've decided to reset my town if aND ONLY IF I find someone to hold some of my stuff and villagers pretty soon

If you don't like your town I suggest resetting. I'm in the middle of a reset right now and while giving up having my house 80% expanded and having Main Street completed sucks, I'm glad I did it. I love my new town. The layout I picked is gorgeous, there is plenty of room to create things that I couldn't do in my last town, and hey, gives me all the more reason to keep playing.

Luckily I have a second 3DS and game to hold three villagers until I can get them to move into my new village.
