resetting phrases and clothing?

So I read that you can force a villager to reset some of their stuff via Isabelle. I tried this with Julian, as he picked up "dilfchaser" from Ricky and I was pretty annoyed he wasn't saying "sparkle" anymore. I also reported Carmen's shirt as she was wearing something custom that didn't look good on her. Julian now says "uh-huh" instead of his original phrase, and Carmen's new shirt is just a white shirt, not her original plaid shirt. Is it random what they get reset to? Carmen I'm less worried about, but half the reason I wanted Julian was so he could say sparkle all the time lol... this kind of sucks. Can anyone explain how resetting works since apparently I misunderstood?

The clothing that is reset by Isabelle will always be a white shirt. I'm not sure about the phrases, I believe it's random but correct me if I'm wrong.

The clothing will be one of these gym tees. As for the catchphrase, I think it goes back to their default when you report it.

I should have done better research, dilfchaser was at least better than uh-huh. Damn it Julian, I should have known you were going to be a disappointment!

if he wants me to suggest a new phrase for him, will he ping me? or should I just keep talking to him over and over every day until he's annoyed with me, in hopes that he'll ask me to suggest a new phrase?
