I have reset my town like 3 times within two weeks. I feel like now that I have more knowledge on villager placement and landscaping, I should try out a new map. I'm unhappy with where I placed my home. My map is okay, but I'm not crazy about it.
The most annoying part will be transferring my stuff, but I have family irl with ACNL, so finding someone to hold my items will be easy peasy.
Thoughts?
I went through a resetting phase myself. I kept thinking "the next town will be even better." I would reccomend resetting especially if your current town is still new. If you feel that you could plan out the placement of building better, and if you are displeased with where your house is now, this could be a good opportunity to make things even better for yourself. The important thing is to be pleased with your decisions in this game and if you find yourself dissatisfied, resetting will be a good opportunity to have a fresh start. Because you have a means of storing your old items too, that makes this situation even easier for yourself. I say go for it!
Do it if you're unhappy with your town/map. I was in the same boat, and put if off for months. I had already reset 4 times, it was starting to look like an addiction. What happened when I put it off because of fear?! Nothing, I stopped playing the game. I realized then that it was silly, and that it was all just a game. If I'm unhappy, then why shouldn't I do something about it?! Even if it'll take effort and time.
I like my current map. It wasn't the perfect map layout that I was looking for, but when you have a fruit requirement, it's quite hard to get it perfect. It was second best and I'm happy with it. There are way too many rocks, but I'll work around it. Every map will have something negative, it's up to me to be creative enough to make it work.
If you've got family members that are willing to hold your stuff for you, then go for it ^.^ Just don't take too much stuff. I took all my bells, items AND flowers with me. It took days for me to transfer it all back, and it all felt like a chore.
