I really want to reset my island it's not turning out how I imagined more and more.. I thought residential services was lined up with the airport dock and turns out it's not and my dock turns out to be short and I dont want peaches as my native fruit and i want Rose's as my native flower and I'm just so upset because I wasted so much time if I reset and even more because I'll have to get all the cherry blossom diys again and everything like that so I'll probably start the game on april 1st or maybe on whatever the release date was.. the only thing that's really held me back from resetting is the fact that bob is in a starter house so I'm wondering what I need to do to get him in a starter house again... well I geuss I have to find him on an island before I put furniture in the starter houses....

Do native flowers and native fruit really matter that much?

You can easily visit other people's islands on here to gather plenty of different fruits and flowers to plant.

I actually can't remember what my native flower is anymore!

Just the little things that get to me..

Is it still only possible to get the other types of fruit by connecting with other people?

I'm surprised u cant remember!!! Well I haven't had much time to really do anything so they're still on the cliff... this game is super time consuming!!!

Bob is a lazy, right? You can hunt for him until you find him before you set up the first three plots to get him in the starter lazy house.

It is really up to you. I did restart back last month (or two months ago? I can't remember and I did start on the release day and time travel to the present) because I really wanted apples for my native fruit. In hindsight, I wish I would have stuck with oranges because I can still plant a lot of apples and get all the flowers, but my "town drink" is now an apple drink and the orange drink was so much cuter with the little orange slice.

They are the little drinks the villagers bust out from time to time to drink. This is a shot of my very beginning with the apples on my second Oakheart town.

I tried to find a picture of the orange drinks, but I never took a picture of that. It had a little orange slice on the rim instead of an apple leaf.

Getting Bob back will be fairly easy, if you're prepared to put in a little work. When it is time to hunt for villagers 3-5, if you first accept a normal and a peppy villager and then you will be locked into only getting lazy villagers. Just make sure not to progress past that date (you'll most likely to have to grind for NMT or buy some from someone on here) and you'll have as much time as you need to hunt for him while locked into the lazy personality type.

What do you mean progress past what date? I was worried there would be some kindve thing I would need to watch out for

Don't progress past whichever date you lay down the third plot on. Then it won't be automatically filled.

I think you get one other fruit through the post from mom, then for the others you'd need to go to other people's islands. I imagine most people have all types now, so you could easily find someone to let you have some of each for your island.

I genuinely can't remember what my first flower type was - i have so many different types all over my island now. I want to say tulips, but then I feel like windflowers and hyacinths were everywhere early on, too! I know it wasn't roses or cosmos. Is there any way of finding this out?

Your native flower and your sister flower are at the island tours

The native fruit ends up in villager dialogue IIRC.

As for flowers, they determine which ones Nook's Cranny sales to you on a daily basis. If you can't remember your native flowers, just go to Nook's Cranny and make note of the flowers. He will Sell 3 kinds. 2 natives, and 1 foreign, which changes every couple weeks.

Thanks - will try to figure out what my native flower was, just out of interest.

None of this really makes much difference to the game once you can trade for fruits and buy flowers from Leif though, does it?

Searching for the native fruit was such a scam... haha with trading, you can get all fruit easily, and it's actually better to plant non native fruit for money and gifting purposes. The only thing it really changes is the icon on your passport.

Same with flowers. At a certain point, it doesn't matter at all. People give away hybrids of all types now. If you're set on a flower, you may have to change your birthday because it's decided by your birth month.

The airport color determines your street lamp color plus some other things, if you care about that.

Some people do care about the icon in their passport. I know that was one of my primary reasons to reset. Does it matter to anyone but me? Of course not! But, it makes me happy.
