I love the layput, but I regret where I put my house. For some reason any time I have a village I love, and there's a tiny flaw,I want to reset. This will be my 30th reset.I always regret it afterwards, but while I have the town still,O hate it so much...
Ooh, tough call. I wouldn't have put my house there, but it isn't that bad! The map seems great other than that! It's almost the exact same as mine, but my town hall and plaza are on the other side of the river. If you have villagers that you love in the town, I would keep it. But if you think your house placement will drive you crazy, then just reset again! It won't take too long
If you've already invested the time in resetting 30 times, what's the harm in resetting a few more? The process of resetting is totally frustrating, but in the end you'll be way more satisfied! You'll be able to enjoy your town for its better qualities rather than focusing on the areas you hate every time you open the game. Your town isn't developed yet so better now than later.

(I also wouldn't classify house position as a "tiny flaw"-- town design is a huge part of the game! )
I like the layout, so does TC.
My problem in playing this town would be R-Tail right up north. I prefer R-Tail near to the dock (tho I've yet to come across a town with it right next to it).
What's wrong with the house placement? Its near to a ramp/beach & it's near to R-Tail.
When I play I tend to do bits around town/use R-Tail before going to the island.
Then its a case of to and fro, dock & R-Tail, which is where this map is problematic for me.
BUT after you have made a bit on turnips/bug hunting on island, R-Tail placement becomes less important.
Whether this map works for you depends on what bit of the game you like playing most: trading, making money, villagers, making & laying down patterns, PWPs whatever. Do you want one long beach, do you want a private beach or a vertical ramp?
Is the native fruit important?
Think about what you like doing, does this map work well for it? If not then yes reset and look for a map that works better for you.
Virtually all maps can be made to work - I could make this map work for me. Not too many ponds, lots of space, south facing waterfall....
