I'm not sure if you're not allowed to talk about it, then again I don't know what it is in the first place ><

What's the reset trick? I've been hearing about it, kinda want to do it to get different villagers in my campsite quickly x3

Campsite reset trick or villager house placement reset trick?

For their house:
Start the game by creating a new character that moves into your town. Check around to see where the new villager will move-in (sometimes there is no new villager so no new house). If you like the place you continue playing, getting a house/tent, until you can save. You must save or else the villager will move it's house again. After loading your mayor and saving there again you can delete your new character if you wish.

If you start with your mayor immediately you can't change their house location any more.

1. Set up your mayor to 5:58 -5:59am.

2. Save and quit. Wait 1-2 minutes. By the time you've finished waiting, it should be 6am, a new day.

3. Make a new person on a new save file.

4. Check your campsite.

5. If no one/someone you're not looking for is there, press the power button and go back into your game with a new save file. 6. Repeat

6. If someone is there that you want save that file by building a tent, you will now have an option to save.
7.Go to your mayor, and that villager should be there as you saved. You can now make it move in!

Then you're allowed to delete that save file if you wish.

-Side note
You wont get a camper each time you reset which sucks, and it might take a while till you get
another camper/the villager you're looking for. Just be patient and you'll find someone!:)

There are side effects of doing this though. quite a few people have reported that their files became corrupted after resetting too many times and had to re-start their towns..

I've also heard of people having their current villagers deciding to move out when doing the camper reset trick, because when you load a new day on the game, it actually counts it as another day having passed, and they may have already decided to move before you were able to talk to them about it.

I never understood this 5:58-5:59 clock thing. I've resetted hundreds and hundreds of time from 8am-11pm and the reset trick still works. Is there a specific reason for this? This seems like it would really mess up your game seeing as how the acnl day starts at 6am.

No, this is not true. When you load a new day, it does count as another day having passed ONLY if you save. And even if you were to save on the new day, and one of your villagers is gone that means the day before they were already in boxes ready to move so there's not much you can do anyways.

Honestly, you don't need to set a specific time. Just don't load your town until you're ready to do the trick.

It doesn't have to be 6AM exactly for it to work. It works at any given time, on the condition that it's your first time logging in after a 6AM mark has passed, and you are not logging in with your mayor straight away.
