You spend months fixing your town, getting your favorite villagers, collecting badges, beetles, fish and more. You've paid off your houses, you have all the sets you've sought after...

But your town isn't quite what you wish it was. The map is really awkward, the space is very small, the path doesn't really work, and the limited space makes PwP's cramped rather than enjoyable. So what do you do? Do you give up all the good things to start anew or do you just try to make do? I really love my game and villagers but...I'm so bored with the town. It looks so bad. I know I'm ultimately making my own decision here, so it doesn't really matter but...what would YOU do?

I would try to revamp it.To me it's not worth losing all of my progress for a new map, I'd rather try to make it work than start all over again. You can make your town look good with any map if you have a good vision of what you want to do and plan things out.

This will sound SO corny, but it is true: we don't love things when they're perfect, things become perfect when we love them. *ducks to avoid flying vegetables* Chasing perfection can be productive to an extent, but the pursuit of it can blind us to what's in front of us. I'd try revamping first. If it just doesn't work, then okay, and restart.

I've been there myself. I almost erased my town, but decided instead to keep it, and I am really glad that I did. I also started a second town though, to experiment with other kinds of layouts and PWPs. Best of both worlds.

I would revamp it. I actually did revamp mine. When I started laying down paths, none worked out with my PWPs so I removed most all of them and replaced them.

I would revamp. I'd only restart if there was absolutely no way for me to enjoy my town. If you're not enjoying your game, what's the point, y'know? It'd be even easier if you have a friend who TTs and would be willing to let you come over every so often so it's not totally impossible for you to slowly rebuild your catch catalogs.

Definitely revamp. Find new Dreamies. Demolish all PWP's and relandscape!!
It will take a lot of work. You CAN DO IT!!

After tons of resetting I'm convinced there really will never be a map with enough space for anything - the maps are just too small with too many possibilities. ;-; so I'd try revamping first, but if there's no way for you to work around it, I'd go ahead and reset.

fml I did the 16 cycle 5 times because I didn't like where my villagers were placed revamp your town

Definitely revamp, I would never reset my game because of the town layout...
Okay, my town layout is pretty good, although I don't like where Pietro's and Francine's houses are (in front of the Town Hall and in front of Brewster's). I couldn't be bothered to do the 16 villager cycle, but I am planning on making Pietro leave, not because of his house placement, but because I couldn't be bothered having 2 smugs and I want to keep both Tangy and Chrissy when I get her back from the 16 villager cycle.
I've already revamped quite a lot; cutting down trees, planting bushes, placing/removing PWPs and almost finishing my bug/fish encyclopedias

I'm keeping my small cramped awkward town.

Im working around it and so far things are doing ALRIGHT so far i've made 15% progress but so far it looks MUCH better espically since i switched bulky paths to stepping stones

I've reset twice and I'd do it again if I had to make the choice. Revamping is just too much work for me. You can always get villagers back and you can take items and bells with you, but a bad map is a bad map. The one I have now is nearly perfect and I'm so glad I reset for it. Plus, getting a new map gave me new ideas with what I want to do with my town and houses, ideas I probably wouldn't have had if I hadn't reset.

I was right there, too. I made my town without really seeing any other maps, put up PWPs without much thought and went so fast trying to do everything as soon as I could. After visiting a few DAs I was ready to restart with my new knowledge. But then just could not erase all my work so I remodel in little sections. I also picked up a second copy to play and I am being a lot more careful from the start :)

A lot of you have excellent points! Maybe it might be worth it to just redo everything first, cut down the trees and demolish the PwP's and just start from there. I might try that. I put absolutely no thought into choosing a map though because I've never played AC prior to this so I didn't even know at the time that you COULD choose your map, I just thought it was whatever you were given. I'll try my best though and if push comes to shove, reset it might be.
