Reset Center built, but no Resetti?

I built the Reset Surveillance Center the other day, and Resetti showed up to talk to all of my characters-

Except for one. My main character, the Mayor.
He didn't come to thank me for building it, and he didn't come even when I quit my game without saving.

I think I might know why.

My mailbox is full, so Pete keeps appearing to tell me I have a letter from Nintendo that he can't give me yet. He's standing right where Resetti normally pops up.

Do you think this is the case? Can someone confirm this?

Why not try clearing your mailbox to see if he will appear?

Uh, is this a bad thing? Because I would kill to have the reset center and not get any of Resetti's crap XD

Nah, it's not a "bad thing" but I was just wondering if anyone could confirm that Pete was blocking Resetti somehow.

But I don't need that confirmation anymore.
I finally got around to cleaning my mailbox, and after starting up the game again, Resetti finally popped up to thank me for building the Reset Surveillance Center.
