Removing and repalcing Bridges

This has been a big week in Cat Cove. Gracie made her first appearance. Mayor Diamond could not pull off the ornate look Gracie wanted but resident Gemmie came through with her sporty look. One down and three to go.

The last fossil has been found and now the Fossil Exhibit is complete.

New pathways have been added to freshen up the town. Cat Cove is looking good to be just two months old. Hope many of you visit it in a dream .

I took down a cobblestone bridge to replace it with a brick one. I want to put it in the same place but Isabelle says no as it is too close to a resident's house. Nothing has changed so I do not understand that at all. I'm afraid to change one of the other two for the same reason. Do I have a solution?

I've had it happen too. I believe you need at least five tiles in between a bridge and a house, even though villagers can set up much closer if the bridge is already present. It sucks.

Thanks Reindeer . The resident's house was there when I added the first bridge so it makes no sense why the new bridge cannot go in the same spot. Not planning on losing that resident anytime soon so I guess I will have to do without that third bridge for now.

That happened to me because I put a campsite near my original bridge. I moved my bridge to the left a bit and it worked. Do you have space nearby to remake the bridge? I only have 2 bridges in town because a villager's house is near the middle section of the river.

Thank you TykiButterfree. I knew I had to remove a Zen light I had placed there after I put the first bridge there. I did that and now have this makes no sense problem. I did try to put that bridge up a ways but I would have to remove my blue bench. May have to wind up doing that but I like that bench where it is. Decisions decisions decisions!

There is one bridge in my town that I'm terrified to destroy and replace with the zen bridge, because I just KNOW I placed the cafe too close to the bridge location, and there are no nearby alternatives. Hate Hate Hate

I'm having the same issue :[ I was putting down paths and one of the bridges was diagonal, so I wrecked it to build a straight one.. Now it's telling me that residents house is in the way =_= so I've been trying to make Biskit move, but of course, when you want someone to move they never move out..../sigh

Also Bonbon just suggested fairy tale bridge, and my house and town hall has a fairy tale theme- so I was happy..but realized there's like 2-3 houses near the other bridges I have and I probably can't build new ones cuz they are "in the way". Really it doesn't make sense to let new villagers move in near the bridge but not build one near any houses.

I had the same issue. I had to give up my dreamie, Bruce, to rebuild a bridge.
