Remodelling special amiibos?

So I went back to Isabelles house to try to build her a bigger house and I just got the option to make her existing size house again. Can I even make special amiibos houses bigger? 'm'

Yes, there should be options, as well as for the basement and/or second floor.

weird! I haven't got any options yet, I just get given the same layout without even being asked? Do I have to unlock it? I've bought the layouts guide thingy, and I think the last facility I did was the 3 room school?
