Regarding Crazy Redd's

I've been playing in my current town since the 25th of December (yay for Christmas gifts) but Redd just hasn't shown up yet, even though it's almost been a month. I'm not sure if I've been missing him or something, but I don't think so, since I check my town plaza many times a day. Anyhow, is it common for him to take so long to make an appearance? This is messing my museum up! Ugh. Isn't there any way to rush him over?
PS: Sorry if that's a silly question, but I just couldn't seem to find anything related to such delay.

Oh, that's so kind of you, thanks!! I do already own a single painting though (lol way to go), which was the thing I needed to unlock my museum's second floor and the caf?, so I guess I'm good to go for the while. It's just this issue's been annoying me lately. Anyhow, thanks a bunch.

No worries about him showing up they re completely random =D I had AC for almost 2 months and I only saw Redd appear for 3 times (exclude the new year)

Yeah it's totally random. Sometimes I get him every week, then others I have to wait weeks before he shows up once.

I got the game as a Christmas gift too and I've seen him twice since then. Like others are saying it seems to be completely random, so I wish you luck! I am sure he'll show up soon.
