So I have a dilemma. I bought Marina recently for 20 million igb. I was so happy until I looked inside her house. It was atrocious, the worst I've EVER seen omg. It's a complete mess, and it's disgusting, and doesn't have one single piece of original furniture in there plus everything is scattered around! So that leads me to my question. How do you "redesign" villager houses? Do you have any tips or tricks, or a method that's almost foolproof and fast? ugh it's just so bad I even considered cycling 16 bc I wouldn't even know where to start! and would i like send her pieces of a set, like where should I even start lol I need suggestions

Oh! I'm really sorry that happened to you :/
Make sure to always ask people how 'original' is the villager , so you won't get so disappointed when their house is a mess - and you can get a good discount! :)
Answering your question, there are some ways:
- When invited to her house, buy the stuff you want her to get rid off.
- Send her same size furniture of the ones you want to replace right after.
That's the one that works better for positioning items in the place you want them to be, although is a bit slow.
But if you don't care where they get displayed, just spam the items through mail as gifts! Some won't be displayed right after, but then mail them again and win the stubborn competition :P

LOL, oh that's atrocious! Try sending them pieces of furniture sets you want in their home through mail or when they ask you for some new furniture. I also, when they ask you to come for a visit/hangout, buy the item in their house you want gone! It's always nice to see that one sore eye item out xD Good luck, I used to have a bunch of villagers with messy and scattered houses xD

thanks for your input and advice :D anyways i actually did ask about her originality and specifically her house but they said she was 100% original. also her catchphrase was quite inappropriate at first lol XD but I fixed that! I now luckily always ask about how original a villager is, bc I learned my lesson, since I once got a villager whose house was also kinda bad but was easily tolerable. normally I don't mind, but Marina's house is so bad it's not even funny!

Wow! If the person told you it was original, then that's straight up scamming.
If this trade had place here in The Bell Tree, make sure to leave that person a negative Wi-fi Rating - so others won't be fooled by them as well!
And make sure to always check the traders rating so you'll feel more safe!

For myself, I plan on redesign all my villagers house differently from their originals, in the future, with furniture sets as well.
So atm I'm not caring about their houses much anyways xD
Although is very nice when you can at least visit them and have a nice look in their house instead of a pile of fish, bugs and balloon furniture :p

that doesn't always work, sometimes they'll replace another piece, and for whatever reason just continue to hold onto it- I've even had them give me back the same item I gave them in the mail, sometimes selling it to me!! The easiest is to agree to visit them, and buy it off them when they ask you if there's anything you want.

Also when they ask you to replace a certain item for them, say yes and help them. That way you can certainly replace the item with what you want.
