Recently I've been thinking about creating natural paths

I've noticed that my town is getting a little worn out, and this is mainly due to how I walk wherever, and don't really follow any sort of path. The idea of natural paths kind of appeals to me, and I was wondering what the best way to go about this is. I assume it's laying down a pattern that guides you to only walk in certain areas, but I've also heard that grass underneath paths doesn't deteriorate. Can someone help me out?

Grass under patterns does deteriorate. I recommend placing patterns to guide you unless you are able to remember your basic paths.

I recommend placing down patterns to help you and maybe you can speed up the process by inviting a few trusted friends to your town and asking them to run over the paths.

Oh, okay then. Thanks for the help, both of you. Looks like I'm gonna be placing some paths.

The deteriorated grass will start to regrow though after it rains, so you'll have to repeat the process every time to keep it that way.

Wait, grass DOES deteriorate under patterns? o.o;; Not mine, apparently? I walk on all of 'em religiously but when I have to move or re-do one I notice there's some grass underneath it, as if it hasn't changed since I laid it down. Am I crazy?

I'm not sure if it deteriorates any faster than normal, but I do know that it takes much longer for it to happen than in any other AC game. (Thank god) lol

you could build PWP's and then destroy them. That would take ALOT of time but when they are build the grass underneath is gone. Grass grows back so it seems like an unnecessary hassle to create dirt paths

If you're just walking on them, you're not going to notice much change especially since you've only been playing for about a month.

I run over my paths all the time. Let me go and pull up a section quick and see.

There is definitely starting to be some deterioration underneath the paths that I laid down. I put them in last week. It isn't a lot, but it is enough that there is a noticeable difference.
