Received My First Villager Pic Ever! :D +Question...

So this morning I received my first villager pic ever...EVER in the history of playing ACNL! From Diana! ^^ Granted, the longest I've had a town was maybe 6 months, but I was super surprised that I received her pic in the mail.

-I never write her letters (anyone for that matter)
-I recently turned down 2 of her requests (didn't have time)
-I recently TT'd a bit (for an experiment)
-I only talk with her maybe 2 times a day

In my past towns I've put in more effort or the same and I've never been given a pic from a villager!!! Any insights?

Even if I don't figure out the formula, I am still SO EXCITED that I got hers!!!!

I am not entirely sure what the formula is either, but I believe that once you've reached the highest level of friendship with a villager there's always a very small chance that they will give you their picture after fulfilling a request. This would explain why you can be best friends with a villager for months without ever receiving their picture, while receiving a picture from a villager you've only had for a few weeks but just reached the highlest level of friendship with. So once you reach that point, I believe it all comes down to luck. Provided you don't do anything to decrease the level of friendship, that is.

From the top of my head, these are indicators of a high friendship with a villager:

- They'll visit your house unannounced.

- When you sit next to them on a bench, they'll look at you happily and keep a happy expression on their face when turning back their head.

- When they're somewhere on your screen and you use the megaphone to call them, they should turn around and wave at you happily (don't use it when you're right next to them or they'll get mad!).

There's probably more stuff, but this is all I can think of right now!

I am completely convinced that there are "Friendship Stages" in this game. I have noticed that my villagers start out asking for simple things (like fruit) then they invite you to their house...then they send a letter...then....blah, blah, blah

I have actually gotten a pic from Fauna and Mira WHILE they still lived in my town! I brought them a perfect fruit (non-native) and they flipped out and gave me "something from the pile of "X's" Pics"...Weird! They both still live in my town. So, there goes the theory of them having to move out for you to get one.

Generally, I think it's random when they give you their picture, as long as you're best friends with them. That chance is there if you have the right friendship level, but it's not guaranteed.

As to the things you've mentioned, I don't believe that any of those affect your friendship very significantly either way. Time travelling doesn't hurt your friendship with them badly, unless they tell you off for ignoring them when you talk to them again, and you can usually make up for that. I've never noticed turning down requests to decrease friendship levels a lot (though if you're concerned, you can just say yes and then not do it, that's what I usually do). Writing letters helps your chances of befriending them but it's not completely necessary. Talking to her twice a day for months seems enough to have a good friendship level with her.

That makes sense and I have generally noticed that as well. I feel like I will never get a Jocks pic because they are my least favorite so I rarely interact with them ^^;

It's as the above users mentioned, it goes in stages there's the "acquaintance" stage, where they ask for simple tasks. After that, more complex, like fish or bugs. Then package deliveries, visiting houses, random letters in the mail, etc.
