I just started playing today, so I can't say for sure as I have yet to experience more of the game, but I'm thinking 8-9 right now. Amazing game, just wish it was refined a liiiiiitle bit more, particularly villagers/dialogue.

I rate it a 9. There's definitely some minor things that annoy me. I wish I could DIY multiple things at once (for example, if I have 5 clams, I wish I could make 5 fish baits at once instead of making them 1 at a time) and I find the breakable tools annoying.

But I think this is easily the best AC game so far. It feels like there's so much more to do, you get so much freedom, it's a beautiful game, and it's overall very fun and relaxing.

I think it's a bit early to full rate a game but so far I'm really enjoying it! I'll give it a 10 because it's sure helping me cope through my city's complete shut down! =)

i’d give it maybe a 7/8 right now? i’m still in the development stage but i do love the game a lot and can’t wait to unlock more things and discover more features as they come

So far 9 out of 10.

Pros
- It's a mainline Animal Crossing game.
- Furniture outside.
- Larger inventory
- Larger mailbox
- Can change hair whenever you want.
- Changing outfits in wardrobes is awesome
- Terraforming lets us hack our maps in a legitimate way.
- Path making.

Cons
- Hourly music not available for a week.
- Can't move furniture when guests are over. Nintendo thinks it's "Rude". My guests think otherwise.
- Multiplayer still takes too long to set up. (Too much character dialogue and prompts)
- Tools break
- Gold Tools break
- Tools take up a lot of inventory making the extra space almost worthless.
- Tools break too easily. The iron fishing rod breaks after 30 fish, which is unacceptable to someone with 30+ inventory slots.
- No way to check tool durability percentage. I never know if my axe, shovel, or slingshot are nearly dead.
- Some fish only spawn in the cliffs... This means you cannot have a flat town with terraforming.
- Can't craft in multiples.
- Collecting iron in the town is hard, there isn't enough spawning per day.

I'll probably update this later. This is from the top of my mind.

9 or 10. It's really good. Exactly what we needed. Can't wait for updates!

I'm giving it a 9 only because I have ran into some interesting glitches and the online multiplayer seems to decrease spawn rates

9 so far, I'm loving every minute, the visuals are gorgeous and I like talking to my villagers, fishing, crafting furniture, all sorts.

I'd probs say NL was a 9.5+ though. NL at this very moment has a lot more content. We don't know about island tours, swimming, the cafe, police station, and all the cut NPCs. Sure they could add them as DLC updates in the future but is this really a good idea to hide this information? There are so many people who will initially rate the game poorly because of the cut of content from NL and may put others off as well (especially with all the 0s given to the game on metacritic right now). People like to know about these things. And if the game is not finished then this is why I will give this a 9 instead of a 10, because, well, the game is not complete (at least it seems that way).

However I'm not panicking like some, as I no doubt believe they will add features like Pocket Camp (which was a really dry game at the start and improved a lot) and Splatoon 2. I'd give this game a 10 in the distant future probably if there's a lot of stuff added later.

Like every game there are cons to this one but the pros keep me playing.
I'm playing the game like 10 hours a day right now so I'm excited to see what's in store for us!

9 stars what irritates me is the crafting which can get tedious after a while, and the fact that I am forced to move in a villager from my campsite that I might not like

I'd give it a 9, there's a few QOL thing that I wish had been implemented + the music during the tutorial before the hourly music is implemented is getting really annoying lmao. other than that i'm loving it!

So far I'd give it an 8...and those 2 points I've deducted is mainly because of the 10 villager limit and the lack of some iconic NPCs and features like gyroids and pitfall seeds.

Obviously the safety of the developers is the number one priority and what's going on is something they couldn't have foreseen but with the news that updates for New Horizons might get delayed now I can't help but think the possibility of holidays not being in the game when they're happening in real life is something we wouldn't even be thinking about if they had just been in the base game like every other mainline Animal Crossing game in the past.

I could definitely see it as a 9 or a 10 down the line though.

I went for an 8, but I'd be stuck between a 7/8 really. There is waaaay too much untapped potential for me to consider giving it a higher score, but I'm very optimistic that Nintendo will come through with some amazing updates.

Am I the only one who's still on fence leaning to not liking it? I think it's pretty, I like that it's a mainline. But it feels to me as if the games have been slowly losing character and this one feels totally and completely bland to me :( I do think it's good, but also I think it might be a 3/4 for me personally ;-;

I gave it a 9 myself. As an early reaction: I wouldn't call it a perfect game, but I can tell a lot of effort and love was put into this by the creators and I've been highly impressed so far.
