Ranking the villager personalities

There are 8 villager personalities. Some people have favorites, others don't care as much. But if I had to rank them I would do:

8. Jock: My least favorite personality, they can get on my nerves and I don't like most of their designs
7. Cranky: Cranky isn't exactly a personality that I like. Idk why
6. Uchi: Uchi can sometimes get on my nerves but I think it's a unique personality
5. Normal: Normal is kind of a mix of all the other personalities of female villagers, but there really cute.
4. Lazy: they're so cute and relaxed
3. Peppy: Peppy are very chipper and I like that they bring a lot of energy
2. Smug: I like they're designs and they're really funny and energetic
1. Snooty: Snooty is probably my favorite because they fit with my town theme and I like they're designs

This is kind of hard. I know which personality is my favorite and my least favorite, but the others in the middle are harder to define. I'm going to try anyway.

1. Cranky - They have always been my favorite. I wish they were still as cranky as the old days, but I still love them.
2. Smug - This was a toss up between Lazy and Smug, but I've really enjoyed the Smug villagers in my town.
3. Lazy - Just barely beaten out by Smug.
4. Uchi - They seem to have the most personality out of the New Leaf villagers, but the individuals have been hit or miss for me.
5. Peppy - I've had a couple of Peppy villagers that I've really loved, but overall they're too energetic for me.
6. Normal - They are really sweet and cute, but having more than one in a town, their dialog can get bland really fast.
7. Snooty - I love, love, love Mint, but I don't think I want more than one Snooty villager in a town. Now that they aren't as sarcastic, their dialog gets too repetitive.
8. Jock - I still really like Jocks, but in addition to being too energetic sometimes, their dialog also gets repetitive for me.

Here's the list of the villager personalities I like and then dislike:

1. Normal. They've always been my favorite probably because they are so simple and I like to think they love to relax and just have a good time in their own simple way.
2. Peppy. I have a lot of peppy villagers that are my favorite, like Apple and Rosie. Plus, they are always so full of energy and they seem always positive too. I always like to look up to them because of their positiveness.
3. Lazy. Lazies are always so funny and I love how they talk about food all the time. I learned a lot of new foods from them I never even heard of.
4. Smug. Very romantic and they always like to be my friends, but though I will agree they can probably be too close? Not sure, but they are OK.
5. Uchi. This personality I like a little bit, but they seem a little too rough to me, so they are OK too, but I still like them in a way.
6. Cranky. I'm kinda OK with this one, but I think they always talk too loud when the new Welcome Amiibo update came out, so not really a big fan.
7. Snooty. Another one that's OK I suppose. Maybe a little rude once in awhile, plus they always seem like they care about fashion sense too much, while I kinda don't.
8. Jock. This one I really don't like and I don't have too many villagers with this personality that I like. So yeah.

The first four I really like, but the last four I'm just not too sure about.

 

[CHA1N]

1. Jock - I actually really like this personality trait, mainly because they don't usually ping me with annoying stuff as much as the others. Very energetic and they don't get pissy or try to haggle with you when you tell them no to trading or buying junk. Occasionally Flip will force me to take a crappy free shirt off his hands, but that doesn't happen often enough to irritate me.

2. Cranky- What can I say, these guys are great because they keep to themselves and don't get in your face about changing catchphrases or begging for items. I also like the cranky personality because they're pretty calm about everything.

3. Lazy- These guys are awesome. Just the right amount of energy, not too talkative, rarely ping, and they're just adorable.

4. Snooty- This type is another favourite of mine just because I love how snide they are. The stuff they say is pretty entertaining. Ankha has a lot of nasty things to say about my uchi, Paula, but then she complains or gossips about a lot of my villagers. Paula doesn't take her crap face to face though.

5. Uchi- The tomboy big sister personality is actually pretty awesome, especially when they give you free medicine after a bee attack. They're also pretty entertaining, but the only downside is that they will force fake art on you or unwanted gifts if your friendship level is high enough.

6. Peppy- While I think peppies can be cute, they can really start to grate your nerves after awhile. They tend to ping a LOT, and most of the time it's that irritating sweating and begging animation over something stupid like being too hyper or needing a new catchphrase. You really need to be in the right mood to put up with them.

7. Normal- I don't much care for the normal personality types. Their designs are usually really cute and while they are very sweet and mature, they also ask for new catchphrases way too often. Like, multiple times daily. Then there's the obnoxious flower quizzes and the dreaded slider scale of 1 to blah that locks you into an unavoidable game of three questions. These types are more trouble than they're worth.

8. Smug- My least favourite of all. Not only do they ping constantly, but they have to spin in a circle every time you talk to them. They tend to drone on and on, especially about trains and the origins of sci-fi genres. Then there's the subtle flirting and creepy letters they clog your mailbox with. They remind me of furries, so I flat out can't stand them.

1. Normal: They're so sweet. The designs are usually super cute. I know this is a super unpopular opinion, but I really like changing catchphrases and playing games with them. They're also probably the nicest out of all the personality types.

2. Uchi: The designs are usually horrible, but I love that It's so easy to get their picture. They're nice but can also be scary sometimes. I also love how they can give you medicine (pesky bees).

3. Lazy: They're all so cute and relaxed. They don't talk too much or ping. They request cute PWPs sometimes, but the only downside is that they seem to ask for a lot more favors than any other type of villager.

4. Snooty: I just imagine all the snooty's having British accents lol. They're not my favorite because they can be a little rude sometimes, but I love taking inspiration from their interior designs because most of their houses are really well decorated.

5. Peppy: The designs for peppy are usually really cute, but I hate the way (especially in Pocket Camp), how they refer to you as their "fan". That's probably nit-picking but it really bothers me like I'm the mayor not your fan. Sometimes they ask for really rare fish and if I catch one I promise I'm not going to give it to you.

6. Cranky: They don't seem to talk or ping a lot so that's nice, but the whole, "Seeing your face, let's just say I'm ready to start a new day," transports me back to 6th grade like I'm being bullied lmao.

7. Jock: I cannot stand how jocks call you "ladybro / bro," it just feels like one of those "hello fellow kids" moments.

8. Smug: The flirting. Save me. It's so awkward. Like, no Beardo I don't want to hear about how your feelings for me are crushed go catch some fish or something.

Here's mine:

1. Cranky. When I'm playing, crankies are usually the only ones awake. My current cranky, Hamphrey, spams me with free presents and gives me the best pwps. And I think the letter he randomly sends, the one where they're checking up on you and making sure your mental health is okay, manages to hit me right when I need it every time.
2. Normal. They're just so NICE. Always supportive, always happy to talk to you, mine like to raid my house unexpectantly and bring grifts constantly, or sending surprise letters more than anyone else. And I don't get bored of their quizzes/questions at all. Can have multiples without getting bored.
3. Lazy. Was my #1 growing up, but something about NL changed that. Lazies are easy to like, I think that goes without explanation. Can have multiples without getting bored, too!
4. Snooty. This personality grew on me fast, their letters and side comments have more hinted depth than most of the others in NL, and experiencing my first snooty in the game made for some great memories over time.
5. Peppy. Nothing personal, I just like others more !
6. Smug. I have the worst luck with horrible designs in villagers, which can be hilarious most of the time, but it means I get the Smugs who come across as creepy AF.
7. Uchi. Bias experience here, but when I came back from a long hiatus (I play this game when I get insomnia or going through something), my uchi villager was the ONLY one who scolded me and berated me for being gone. Put me in an awful mood after. Also, all I've had have been..... interesting looking.
8. Jock. Their personalities seem to get repetitive the fastest. They're the only villagers I've had that NEVER have new dialogue for me, and having more than one of them at a time gets stale.

Mine would be like this

1- Snooty - Since Wild World I've always loved the snooty villagers, I generally find the designs quite appealing and both Blaire and Pecan are two of my favourite villagers
2- Lazy - The lazy villagers are also super cute and I generally like their laid back personalities
3 - Uchi- I'm actually quite fond of uchi villagers and to be fair I like almost all of them. I find them nice but also straight up honest if they need to be and its sweet of them to give medicine after bee stings.
4- Normal - Once again villagers with super cute designs and super nice persoanlities, always apologise for everything and they're all aesthetically pleasing to look at (minus Jambette)
5 - Cranky - I start by not liking them but they always grow on me (I LOVE Gaston now), they act all tough but deep down they're usually really sweet
6- Smug - They're nice enough as villagers but some of the flirting can be quite a lot, especially when coming from Beardo or Chops
7- Peppy - I'm not a huge fan of peppy villagers, I don't like too many of them and they're super OTT about everything, they have a lot of energy too, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but still
8- Jock - By far my least favourite type. They're are about 3 villagers i like who are jocks but they're repetitive and they're dialogue always saying 'bro' and stuff is super annoying to me.

 

[Blood Eclipse]

1. Cranky: they're the only ones, besides jock villagers (sometimes), that make me laugh. Even now that the personalities have been watered down to the point where some personalities are hard to tell apart from others, cranky villagers still, occasionally, make me laugh.

2. Jocks: I remember in Wild World, when I spoke to one of my jock villagers, he was in the middle of doing some squats, and he then told me his pants ripped only to then realise that animal villagers don't wear any pants. So he said something along the lines of "Wait a minute! I just remembered I'm not wearing any pants. Then what just ripped?!" And he walked away depressed. I was laughing so much at the thought. In New Leaf they're still occasionally funny, I guess.

3. Snooty: These villagers still have a fragment of edge left and their sassy attitudes makes me laugh, sometimes, especially when they're having a conversation with jock or cranky villagers.

5. Uchi: They're tomboys.

6. Lazy: I just love how chill they are. I always considered them a must have for any town.

7. Peppy: Can be funny, even if kinda annoying.

8. Normal: the most blandest of all personalities, the only time they were somewhere on top of my favorite personalities was in Wild World because they had better written dialogue. I think they have some of the cutest characters, Merengue being my favorite, but!!! cutness =/= personality.

1. Cranky: I love their Zen lifestyle haha! Best PWPs and best anecdotal stories (out of the very few dialogue options that new leaf They're actually really sweet when you get to know them.
2. Jocks: Jocks are hilarious and I don't know why they get so much hate u_u They're dialogue and hobbies almost never suit the actual appearance of the animal (most of the time) which is why it's so funny to me.
3. Snooty: Mainly because I like the way a lot of Snooties look. They are kinda the same as Crankies to me. Just upset that they're not as sassy as previous games.
4. Lazy: Super adorable. But can get real boring if you have more than one in town. My favourite villager is a lazy so that's why it's a four.
5. Peppy: I actually love peppies. They're fun and cute to talk to. They'd be further up on the list but it's the same with Lazies. If there are more than one it's a bit too much for me.
6. Uchi: I love their personality but dislike most of their appearances u_u Hazel is probably my favourite.
7. Normal: Very cute but kinda bland! I thought I'd need a normal in my main town to complete all the personalities but after my normal moved out I'm surprisingly OK with that personality not being present.
8. Smug: God I hate their dialogue Paired with some of the designs of villagers... real creepy. I picked the two best looking (in my opinion) for my towns, Ken and O'Hare, but I don't like talking to them as much as the other villagers.

1. Cranky!!! I love my crankies so much. I am a sucker for the mean on the outside, nice on the inside types.
2. Uchi. My cool big sisters. If I was a villager, I'd be uchi myself, so I love all my uchis.
3. Normal. They are so adorable and cute. My very favorite villager (Fauna) is a normal. They have the best designs, imo.
4. Smug. They're so cool and dreamy.
5. Lazy. Same, y'all. Same.
6. Peppy. A little too much pep for me. The designs are cute tho.
7. Snooty. I just don't care for their personalities. They are kinda mean sometimes.
8. Jock. They are just entirely unappealing to me. I don't care about their interests and only a few of them have good designs.

okayy here we go

1. lazy; since bones moved into my town, i've been in love with this type. they're so cute and pure, i could talk to them for hours and never get bored. they often cheer me up after a long day and their looks are one of my favorite. bones and that black taurus with the red eye (only know his german name) will always be in my heart

2. normal; unpopular opinion: i love the normal characters, not just for their cute looks (but i mean looook at them they're so fluffy and muffly omg). i wish their dialogues would be more invidual, but i don't mind them asking for new phrases or asking me about my favorite flower. basically all of my favorites contain of them and if i could have more than 10 villagers in new leaf, it would be over for you guys lmao

3. cranky; their jokes are the best. also they are always awake and tell me if a scorpion is nearby. i loved them in the older games and i wish they'd still be that rude to be honest. they are so mean on the outside and so shy on the inside, i love it. just like me in real life lmao

4. peppy; merry has been my first real 'love' in animal crossing. of course i had to get her amiibo and now she lives in my town and i'm happier than i've ever been before. honestly she's so cute. but their dialogues are pretty repetitive too and they often don't match my town layout so yea but i still have merry and chai in my town because cuteness overload

5. snooty; their looks really match my town most of the time and they are alright when you actually get to know them. but i only like around two of them (olivia and diana to be more specific). i love their self confidence tho and their make-up, duh

6. jock; they're alright i guess. i only really like kid cat, omg i remember being 12 and hoping for a valentine's friendship date with him because we were best friends in my old town. i'm still building up our relationship in my new town tho and it's getting better every day. but i hate how they call me ladybro and i'm not exactly the definition of sports lover either so eh

7. uchi; i only like muffy but that's okay, she's really bold and fantastique and everything and i can always count on her when i need medicine also. but since i only like her, that's a nah for the type

8. smug; don't even know why i put them last. just not the best. i don't hate them, they're okay. but their pwp's don't match my town so i don't have one of them in my village

I am not certain with the rest of the Villager Personality Categories. I just know these are my top three with respect for having the strongest appeal to me personally. I like the Lazies the most because they project such innocence. The Normals follow; they?re second to Lazies because some Normals have a different purpose?some have a sweet innocence while others have a more mature persona with a tendency to nurture. Smugs are also wonderful because they don?t overdo it with conceit since they truly want to impress.

This would be my ranking:

Even if I really don't like the fact that Cranky villagers are so watered down in New Leaf, they are still my favorites because of the way they act as well as for their rude behavior (at least from the previous games. In New Leaf, they are too friendly for my taste). Uchi is on the second place, followed by Lazy on the third spot, I find both quite funny. Smug, Peppy as well as Normal are all three overall okay. While I don't mind Snooty villagers, they became over the time kinda annoying. Besides, I also hate it a lot that they got watered down too in New Leaf. My least favorite personality is Jock. While there are some villagers I like which have this personality, I'm not such a huge fan of their dialogue and I do find Jock overall kinda boring.

 

[Bizhiins]

Mine are:

1. Uchi - totally my favorite. I love the spunky females, I think they?re so cute and fiery, and I love they?re style! Cherry and Katt are my favorite villagers ever!
2. Normal - they?re just so nice and sweet and genuine. There?s nothing you can really dislike about them, unless you find them too boring (I don?t mind that though)
3. Cranky - I love cranky villagers when they start to warm up to you and you see their soft and caring side, I think it?s really sweet!
4. Lazy - very relatable to me, constantly talking about food, sleeping, etc. and a lot of lazy characters have cool designs.
5. Smug - I like them too, very gentleman-like and romantic, nothing wrong with that!
6. Peppy - there?s a few peppy villagers I like, but sometimes they are really cheerful and I?m not in the mood for it! I love Tangy and tabby though
7. Snooty - not really my favorite, I think them stuck up and mean and gossipy sometimes, the only one i can really stand is ankha.
8. Jock - they?re alright but the constant talk about working out kind of gets on my nerves. I don?t have any jock villagers in my town. The only thing I ever liked with a jock villager is when one put a bear shirt on, and their belly was hanging out while they kept talking about muscles

 

[Mayor Jack]

1.Peppy
Tangy is my favourite villager in the game and I love many other peppy villagers just because of how nice they are to me. I find their designs are usually really bright and colourful, and always have new things to say.
2.Normal
Even though I have the most normals in my town over any other villager personality they are my second favourite. I love their sleep schedules because their the only ones awake before like 9:30 or something that I can actually talk to and like the peppy personality, I find they always have interesting things to say. I sometimes find them a bit bland and boring to talk to but I still love them. Lolly or Savannah is probably my second favourite villager after Tangy.
3.Lazy
I have two lazies in my town, Bob and Punchy, and both of them are always just so caring and easy to talk to. I love hearing about the things that happen in their personal life and are always pinging me with new PWPs to build.
4.Uchi
My most recent uchi although she unfortunately moved away was Phoebe. She was probably my least favourite in town, but I still didn't want her to go. It was really annoying how she got up at 11 am - the latest of any personality but I still found her nice, yet sort of bland. I feel neutral about uchis mostly. I don't really mind them.
5.Smug
Although I don't have any smugs in my town, I don't mind them much. They are always pretty nice and aren't really mean. I feel neutral about them and think they are the least memorable personality.
6.Cranky
I feel bad putting cranky at number six because Octavian is one of my favourite villagers but other than him EVERY OTHER CRANKY VILLAGER I have had a bad experience with. Cranky would probably be at number eight if it wasn't for Octavian. Octavian is the only cranky in my town and is just SO MUCH NICER than all the others. He never seems to insult me as much as the others and actually seems very caring but villagers like Hopper can just get out of my town.
7.Snooty
Snooties just annoy me. The way they talk, how arrogant they are. I don't have any right now and aren't intending on getting any soon.
8.Jock
Jocks are by far the most repetitive type of villager. All they talk about is body buidling, working out , and sports and it gets really annoying after a while. A lot of the jocks do look really cool but their personality sucks. Again, like with the snooty, I don't have any and won't be getting any soon.

1. Cranky
They seem unfriendly at first, but if you talk to them regularly, they become really good friends.
2. Jock
Again, not as much fun initially, but the more you talk to them, the more interesting they become.
3. Snooty
I have only had one snooty villager I liked, but Greta is one of my favorite villagers ever.
4. Lazy
I don't have a strong love for lazy villagers, but Jeremiah is such a sweetie.
5. Normal
Some normal villagers seem kind of boring, but Gayle is one of my original villagers, and my town just wouldn't be the same without her.
6. Peppy
I haven't found a peppy villager yet that I actually like.
7. Uchi
For me, these have been the worst to live with. They seem crazy... and not in a good way.
