I've just started my ACNL game 4 days ago, and I see a lot people resetting for specific villagers.

Does anyone like to take whichever random villager that you get? I'm up to 7 right now (started with Anhka, Celia, Moe, Hamphrey, Bluebear, then Marshal & Cherry) and I'm pretty okay with everyone. I think that's part of the game for me, to get villagers I might not have thought I would like, and then warming to them (Hamphrey & Celia being examples).

Moe's kinda creepy though. Even Celia thinks so. :P

But I guess I would reset if someone moved in right in front of me. I heard that happens and so I built my house just in front of the river. |D

I can tolerate them for a bit, but when they ask to move, I won't stop them (because either their location is bad or I just don't like them).

You got nice villagers, btw :)

I usually try to boot random villagers. I planned out my entire town, with all 10 spots for villagers reserved. Only once has a random move-in been a dreamie.

Most of the villagers in my signature were random. The only one not there that was a random move in was Sylvia, who went to my sister. Phoebe was obtained through the Villager Trading Plaza, and Genji was obtained through campsite resetting. Not sure if Genji counts, because while resetting was involved in his acquisition I wasn't specifically trying for him. I was just forcing the game to give me a villager so I wouldn't end up getting my sister's voided Poncho.

My last town was entirely random, composed of Soleil, Rod, Hamlet, Camofrog, Zell, Ozzie, Canberra, Annabelle, Pinky, and Kid Cat. I really liked every single member of that group too. :)

I started with random villagers too and I haven't reset my town even once. It was really fun because there were villagers I wouldn't have thought about otherwise and villagers I hated at first and ended up loving.

If you're concerned that a random move-in might plot in a bad location, you don't have to reset your whole town, you can just plot reset to make sure they plot somewhere nice.

Most of the time I check who I'm getting first. If I like them then I keep it that way, if not I try to reset. Where they place their house is a factor for me too. When they ask to leave, I let them so I can get someone new :>

I tend to fall in love with my villagers and have trouble parting with them. Move outs are really sad, but I usually end up liking the next villager too, of course. But I don't get to meet as many villagers, because I don't part with them too often. And I try to avoid the tier one dreamies, because I can't afford to fall in love with any more villagers.

Yea I seem to have lucked out with villagers! I did annoy some of them by talking to them too much though; I had no idea how much you're supposed to talk to them in the beginning. |D

I think I'll also have trouble letting my villagers move... I think I want to keep Marshal and Ankha permanently, but will be really sad to see everyone else go. :(
