I forgot that with Pancetti leaving, I was down to 8 villagers again, whoops. Sure enough, the next possible day, I got a random move-in who plopped himself right on my path and tore up a few hybrids - some jerk by the name of Marshal. Well I got no use for some squirrel but my SO is pretty excited about him, so there's another dreamie down on her list. She never expected to get a chance at him, given what he sells/trades for, so she's pretty excited, I think! Incidentally, I'm also holding Cherry, another random move-on, for her. My town is good at attracting her dreamies, I guess.

Well, if she's got the space, you can introduce yourself to Marshal and ignore him for about a week. That should get him to move his furry ass and you can start fixing the damage.
